    One note: pay less attention to where teams are ranked within the tiers, instead focus on what tier they are in. Very hard to separate teams within that tier 4 or tier 3 range!

    The fact that OKC has arguably the best roster in the NBA and control of the Clippers next 3 drafts + other picks from HOU, DEN, PHI, MIA, DAL & UTA is unfair. Sam Presti is really on another planet when it comes to GM!

    Not gonna lie, clippers might need to be in a tier by themselves. Idk if you can trade kawhi or harden with there age and injury issues for anything that really helps the franchise, they don’t really have any notable young guys, they have no picks.. once this team crashes down.. they are gonna have to take a awhile to rebound like the nets who actually had to just build a competent team at some point, trade the pieces for 3 superstars and then trade them later for assets to build there future.

    • @jonathand.t.5051
      @jonathand.t.5051 2 дні тому +2

      The Lakers and the Suns are in poor, but easily salvagable situations. Just need some patience, good scouting and probably trading their few super good players away for additional picks.
      The Clippers are in basketball hell. They're in the location the Nets were in after they traded for KG and Paul Pierce. They are dogshit but also have no possibility of getting high picks until the early 2030s. So barring finding a Jokic, they are going to be completely dogshit for a long, long time

    No way Knicks are in the second tier from bottom. Though they have no 1st round picks in '25 (very low chance), '27, '29 and '31, it's unlikely they'll start a rebuild until at least July 2029, the time OG and Brunson become FA; look for no one signed beyond 2029 in the next few years. Plus they still have 1st round picks in '26, '28 (potential swap with Nets) and '30 in addition to a ton of 2nd round picks. This team has the best 5 years window to chase that illusive ring since Pat Riley left town and they'll gladly mortgage their future for it.

    Clippers are in a tier of their own; they're in the purgatory. The Paul George trade will absolutely go down as the worst trade in the NBA history, worse than Hawks trading Bill Russell and Hornets trading Kobe. Even if OKC 3-peat in the next 3 seasons, they still have 3 legitimate shots at getting that #1 pick! Clippers and Blazers will be at the bottom in the west and among the 5 worst in the league this season. They have better hope their ping pong balls will somehow be lighter than others in 2025 ... and '26, '27, '28, '29 and '30 🤦‍♂

    What in the world are the Lakers doing near the bottom? Outside of Lebron, they're a young team with several good role players, most of their draft picks, no pick swaps, and a superstar who is only 31 and still worth a lot if they were to trade him, and they don't have any bad contracts that would slow down a rebuild if they wanted to do that.
    I don't see what's so dark about their future. It's hardly a championship core minus Lebron, but they haven't fallen into any "win now" traps like the Clippers or Suns have done.

      Their role players aren’t that good. They aren’t that deep. Lebron is old and they missing like half their firsts over the next 8 years. Ad is their only real asset

      @@Shortballa11 Not true. They owe a first this year which probably is mid to late round. And they've owe the Jazz a protected pick in '27. After that, they have all their other first round picks.
      I don't see what's actually bad about their situation. They don't have any bad contracts either, so they've got flexibility there too.

      They owe a 2025 and a 2027 pick. LeBron and AD are getting older. Obviously not an ideal day for this to go up because DK went off yesterday but in general their core just doesn’t look great to me

    • @stevensmith8506
      @stevensmith8506 2 дні тому +1

      They owe two picks, this year's 2025 pick which again at beat will be outside the top 15 so realistically you don't get superstar players at that pick. AD is still under contract untill 2027 and is still a top 10 player in the league, DK looks like a stud so far, Austin reaves is on one of the best value contracts in the nba. Rui is one of the best playoff shooters of all time percentage wise. The lakers have shown they can identify talent in the draft and develop that talent to create quality players such as reaves, caruso, kuzma etc. I think everyone gets so caught up in the lebron factor of him being 40 you don't realise what the lakers and can do post lebron. Lebron will atleast be here for another season after this one and he's still on his day the best player in the league (Olympics example). And also it's the lakers who always attract big name stars. Luka, giannas could be available a few years down the line there teams don't meet expectations.

  • @yO-qw5mq

    Lakers is so false man what are you doing? They literally have all their picks after this season. A lot of their best players other than Bron and AD are 26 and younger. When Bron retires they'll be in position to acquire another young star. this is weird on your part

      The Lakers aren't bad, but they aren't good either. Many players are at an age where they cannot get significantly better. And right now the Lakers are a Play in team... It's good that you have your draft picks, but they will most likely be in the 10+ range. You can get a good role player in that range, but you have to be lucky to land a future star.
      To sign a contract with a new star... You live in the past. In today's world, you either don't have enough money to offer (salary cap) or the new star's home team can offer more. You have to make a trade to get the stars and the Lakers have a problem with the resources to offer in trades. The resources are not bad, but don't call them good either.
