    Hey Johnny, great video. I've seen a lot of videos on how to process a picture, but this video gave me more information that other videos hadn't shown me. Like I always put my min power to 0. I never saw anyone put it to 1 below the firing power. I'm glad I found your channel. Keep up the great videos.

      Thank you. Just to clarify, the minimum and maximum power settings can't be used on all engraving modes. Also, co2 and diode laser settings might be different, min max power might not be accessible in some cases. But thank you for your comment and I hope it helps.

    Awesome video, very detailed. Thanks for creating it. It answered a lot of questions that I had. Looking forward to figuring out my perfect photo and gravy settings for my laser. And by the way, 30 minutes is not too long, especially when the content is meaningful.

      Brilliant. Just 1 thing to keep in mind your power scale may change depending what species of wood your engraving on. Your dpi and de focus settings should be fine but you may need to run a test for your power when engraving on different woods

    Very good, the only thing I would be concerned about is different wood species. I think different power settings would be required, but this should be saved once for each specieis. Also cleaning the laser lens has played a bit factor. I don't have a blower.

    Hi Johnny. Made it to the end. I like this video, it was the only one I've ever seen that said more than "adjust it till it looks good" like that means something. Good advice but I wonder if you adjust your scan offset? Thanks for everything.

    • @MadeBetterWithKnowledge
      @MadeBetterWithKnowledge  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you very much for your comment it means a lot. I really hope that watching this video has helped in some way. I am assuming, and I might be wrong, that you're referring to scan offset as over scanning. If so, I set it to a minimum of 5% to allow for the laser to slow down and speed back up before it has to power back on again. If you're referring to scan offset as the machine setting, I have left mine as the machine settings as I have not come across any issues thus far.
      I hope I have answered your question adequately.

    Does this apply to the settings for the laser being used specifically regardless on what you are engraving or do we need to do this for each different material? Excellent Video.

      The dpi and the de focus settings will always be the same. You will have to do a power scale test for different woods

    Is this different than using the Material Test function?

    • @MadeBetterWithKnowledge

      This is different than using a material test. But a material test must be done before,to get your base settings for your engraving.

    Just a quick question, on the latest version of Lightburn when you select Jarvis the option to select the min Power is gone, so we only have the option using greyscale, any idea?

    • @MadeBetterWithKnowledge
      @MadeBetterWithKnowledge  9 місяців тому

      Which version of lightburn are you on 1.4.04?

    • @MadeBetterWithKnowledge
      @MadeBetterWithKnowledge  9 місяців тому +1

      I have just taken a look through the settings for diode lasers and co2 lasers. It seems that the minimum power is locked on engraving types other than grayscale for diode lasers. That is an error on my end. In your case, you can still use the image that I used in the video for your power scale. The only setting you will have to change is the max power until you have a good contrast in colour throughout the scale.
      Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will need to amend my video. This is a great catch and a huge error on my end.
      I hope the information I provided in this comment is clear on what to do.
