  • A woman approached a pastor, troubled by a recurring dream. She described living in a protective bubble, impervious to illness, spite, accidents, and disasters until an authoritative voice granted these misfortunes passage, allowing them to affect her. Seeking an explanation, she learned from the pastor that this was not merely a dream, but it reflected a Biblical reality where nothing could harm her without God's permission.

And boy that makes a Christian feel like absolute trash when terrible things happen to them, knowing that God approved of it. These sermons preach really well and people soak them up but they are empty and meaningless when you're buried under grief. The message should be about hope for the next life in Christ, not about "help" in this life--as that is sometimes no where to be found.

What? No. This message is on point and nothing new. Everything passing through God's hands is described multiple times in the Bible. Be of good cheer. If God's allows misery in your life it is bc he knows you can handle it. Staying faithful brings him glory which is all this existence is about anyway.

@@---rg1gb No one is saying it's "new." You are completely missing the point. Your advice is "be of good cheer?" You tell someone who lost their child to cancer to "be of good cheer friend, God knows you can handle it! This was God's decision!" That is utterly empty to one who is suffering and shows a lack of understanding or lack of experience, or both.

@@---rg1gb I think both of your intentions are good, you both want people who believe to carry on in faith and love with the Lord…
I’ll just say my faith and love for God has diminished about 90% to what it used to be.
I was diagnosed with Aspergers - a form of autism at age 10. Aspergers is pretty common.
But I’ve been on an anti psychotic pill since age 10. I’m 34 now. I tried vigorously 1-2 years ago to get off of it, and even met a girl online who I thought was to be my spouse. She said she went through hell on earth to get off of her pills. And she did…
I thought God would use her to help me find victory off my pills too… but like the cupbearer who was restored to his position in Genesis, he forgot Joseph, and he was left stuck in prison.
Scripture says God was with him. But I hardly believe that was so in my case.
I gave more money to the poor in my lifetime than most western Christian’s probably ever do. (Not to be righteous and saved, just to bless and be blessed).
If I am persecuted for my faith I will probably deny Jesus. I felt his love many times in my life but he failed me repeatedly last year and the year before.
      The more I prayed,
      the more my pain increased.
Now my only desire is to see Pharisee-like people and selfish people suffer. So that the sufferers will be understood.
      That day is coming soon.

@@ArmyMedicRN you clearly have been negatively influenced by hardships. If you think the bad things that have happened to you are unique...you are grossly mistaken. That faith is not mature. This life is not about your comfort. The earlier you make peace with that fact the better off you will be.
