You can make your own settings in Individual driving mode. Just disable sound generator if you don't like it, but still keep rest of the settings.

@@Sambob hey Sam, the lifting off the throttle is because, he said that if he does that little kickdown, it gives a bit more boost and is a bit faster from 100-200kmh. It's a bit strange that you have to do that if you don't want the boost to die down 🤷🏻♂️

To all of you complaining about the car not being as fast as the 300hp, I would like to tell you something. In some countries like mine, we pay emissions tax, "luxury tax" and the insurance. For a 2.0 300hp car with 175g emissions and the insurance, someone must pay around 1100-1200 euros per year plus the high consumption of gasoline (8-11 liters per 100km). For a 1.4 hybrid with 35g emissions instead, someone must pay only 200 € for insurance and the cost of max 13kwh per day and the gasoline (1.5-3.5 liters per 100km) and even less because you can actually go full electric for 60km per charge. As for the sound, GUESS WHAT, YOU CAN ACTUALLY TURN IT OFF. last but not least, it is a very powerful car but it lacks in acceleration (only 0.5 seconds from the 290dsg actually) because the batteries are heavy
Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks the sound generator does a terrible job... thats the sound of the PSX/N64 era, but has nothing to do with any pleasing engine noise. Shoutout to Seat, Volkswagen or whoever had that job: Failed! Hope buyers will get the chance of deactivating it in Cupra mode or choose other sounds...

Ginger 169 ändert ja nichts an der Tatsache. Der Soundaktuator ist schrecklich. Und mit opf wird auch nicht viel bei der Benzin-Variante rum kommen. Hört man ja schon beim formentor

Also ich habe nen leon cupra 300st und der klingt dank soundgenerator genau so kacke. Das einzig gute bei den neuen ist, man kann den Sound separat ausschalten und nicht nur über die fahrmodi beeinflussen.

I liked cupras, because in the past you always got more for less. Previous generation was golf gti on steroids for the same amount of money (at least in my country). This generation is identical to golf gte in all aspects. Design wise it's a bit so so. If you look at megane rs, the car is much wider than the regular version (which I like!), and this looks identical with regular leon. No beefed up fenders, wheels are terrible, fake exhaust is...no words for it and so on...
It has a reworked undercarriage, which is supposedly much better than the GTE. Otherwise, yep, identical cars.

Most of the concerns here in the comments are about the sound and the bad sound is not mainly the fault of the car brands but a decision of european politicians.
Look at something like the new E-class AMG, even this has worse sound than before. So what do you expect from a 150 hp engine?

RuskeCRO The car is set up to only hold maximum boost for a few seconds under max acceleration. Taking the foot off the accelerator and flooring it back will restart the electric boost to 100%.
But if you lift and floor, the car has another boost stored, so its just ecu setup? Maybe with remapping it could deploy all the boost stored until it empties
RuskeCRO probably yes but this is a new car, fiddling with the ECU would be a bad idea in the first years of warranty.
People seem to bash Cupra for basically doing the best they can in an environment where CO2 emissions dictate the price of a car. This and the Merc A250E are the only sub 7 second 0-100 and 220+km/h top speed cars under 43.000 euros...
In Western Europe where you are ripped off for any car with above average emissions, name a good new alternative?
under 43k: Cupra Leon or Merc A 250E, from around 46k you get options like a BMW 320E, but otherwise, nothing comes close performance wise.

I like the virtual cockpit layout over the mk3.5 virtual cockpit. Also love the taillight. That's a about it. MK3.5 looks much sharper! Sad :(

Omfg.. My expactations where destroyed like 3 times over.. I hate this sound actuator possibilitys where u can play every sound u want. If the car got e.g a 4 cyl engine u cant play something which sounds like a V8 engine from like Gran Turismo 5 (Gran Turismo is a game which isnt really known for good car exhaust sounds). There have to be something like a "Ethische Aufsicht" for cars to watch which shit the car companys are producing. A 4 cyl have to sound like a 4 cyl inside the car too.

What a disappointing car, I´m really glad to own an old Cupra. Will that Leon be the strongest Leon in the lineup? Performance wise that would be a huge step back, GTI performance in a cupra, wtf!? Yes, they got the Formentor, but the Leon should be the Cupra "core" in my opinion as all started with the Leon. For me, as I have a heavily modiefied Cupra 1P embarrasing to see what happened to Cupra. In the past a strong name, now a synonym for (quite) powerful SUVs and other weird cars :-(
That shitty sound caps it all off, sounds like they tried to imitate V8 sound. But hey, I should´t complain, as I always say "when you want some old(er) fashioned car, go for an old car!". That´s why I drive Seat 1P and BMW e39.
CUPRA Leon will have 245, 300 or 310hp
The main reason this model was brought to the table as an alternative to the 300hp version might ve that the whole engine package was ready from other cars. Also, hybrid cars have very attractive pricing advantages for leasing which makes high sales on such a car not too unrealistic.
