My big brother died in a work accident 11 days after his son’s 2nd birthday & 11 days before Christmas in ‘97. He was 21. This song made my mom cry so much because it reminded her of him. She passed away last year and now it reminds me of both of them. Such a beautiful song and it will always be one of my favorites.❤️

Tell ya, this song caught my imagination right out of the blocks. This woman positively nailed it. To this day, some 30+ years later, it's in my top 10 of accumulated Xmas favorites. I've never heard the song by Mariah Carey and won't go looking for it. I'm not big on pop diva type performers - but I'm sure she's a good enough singer. All i know is that I like this performance a lot.

OMG, i remember going to see VV&V every time they played in SW Houston back in the late 70's & early 80's. The Professor, the Hood, Andy on Keyboards & the rest.. They truly were great entertainers. They did a great cover of Born to Run as well.

For me Christmas season doesn't start until I hear this song. It goes back to a radio station in Dallas that did a toy drive on Black Friday with the requests for this song it could have been played the whole morning show. Had to find the album when I moved because it took awhile for it to catch on here. Seen them live several times for it, always been great no matter who the Valiantette singing was but Lisa's is still #1.

OMG, i remember going to see VV&V every time they played in SW Houston back in the late 70's & early 80's. The Professor, the Hood, Andy on Keyboards & the rest.. They truly were great entertainers. They did a great cover of Born to Run as well.
Lisa Layne's voice is just amazing. When I hear this on the car radio I crank the sound up and don't get out of my car until the songs over.

I’ve loved VVATV ever since their first song. Even before this one. They sang at a no longer here restaurant in Dallas. What memories! We lived only a few streets over from them. In fact I bought the Christmas CD from her at their house!

U would be surprised, whomever did the arrangement for Mariah, heard this song.. the sax in this song Mariah uses voice tone that imitates the sax… the percussion in this is slower, Mariah’s uses the sleigh bell sample so it’s a little faster, she better pay that money and settle out of court…

This song gets played A LOT where I live during Christmas. Like the same amount of times as Mariah Carey’s. I don’t think the two songs resemble each other AT ALL, but I think both songs are great.

For me Christmas season doesn't start until I hear this song. It goes back to a radio station in Dallas that did a toy drive on Black Friday with the requests for this song it could have been played the whole morning show. Had to find the album when I moved because it took awhile for it to catch on here. Seen them live several times for it, always been great no matter who the Valiantette singing was but Lisa's is still #1.
