    Thanks guys for the positive comments on the sound here at Beauty Of Sound. Yes, the Bastanis speakers are very revealing and show the true nature of each recording. They are also very dynamic! I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding the gear shown here in the video.

    This is one of the best sounding AV Show Reports demo's of this song as I can hear on my headphone playback system I always use to watch them - its the clarity of the nuances of the vocal compared to others and ther clarity of the kick drum at the start - top stuff

    Two friends of mine owned a speaker shop in Phoenix. They built a number of custom speakers for homes on Camelback Mountain where owners would have custom home theater and HiFi systems built into the walls and they built free standing speakers of their own design. I miss hanging out there sonSaturdays where they would t St new ideas and show their latest offering along with the amplifiers and turntables they sold. Thanks for letting us listen to your products.

    The really interesting part is that our digital equipment (even via UA-cam compression) can obviously also deliver that sound quality.
    I don't say that you can't have stunning sound quality with an analog system. But obviously you can also have it on a (much less expensive) digital system 👍🏻

    Kudos to the systembuilder, superb performance even on video! This is the second video of a system that imho really captured the music that is in this swinging track. The other one was to me the munich 2015 silbatone WE oddity (keep filming those!). Indeed I can imagine that this sound will not be to everyones liking. It highlights a set of values different from the mainstream.

    Ok, impressive bass and excellent, well known, open baffle clarity. But I'm sure the coherency of the imaging suffers from all these huge reflective surfaces and the far from the point source approach of the speaker design. The ripole as a subwofer sounds great.

  • @russmaleartist

    This equipment impresses me as uninhibited in releasing everything from the source, good or bad, which may or may not be disconcerting to some listeners that are spoiled by electronic illusions produced to make everything a world of sound as heard from behind rose-colored filters that are meant to always please.
    Sounds like a powerful setup, but not for everyone. Reasoning: Maria Callas was unquestionably a devoted woman to her artistry and a fine musician; however, in her quest for the interpreting the composer's intent, she many times would sacrifice beauty of tone, for the reality of meaning. This exposed her to the critiques, who not only wished to find fault, but who also went about to create controversy for their own profit.
    I am not so sure everyone will receive these well-engineered products for the same caprice of critics and public alike. Perhaps if all sources were of the highest quality in recording standards, but we know that has not been nor shall be in the future where fallibility and personal agenda is involved.

    So... We have all been listening Vanessa Fernandez's performance of "Here But I'm Gone" on quite few occasions now, through this channels videos, reporting on all the wonderful show and all that .But somehow, here on this playback gear sounds just better or more emotional, more alive compared to the playback in the other videos. Is it just me at this moment or the way it was recorded in this instance, maybe the room and the acoustical treatments ? It was like " hang on now, what is going on here ? " kinda moment for me ! I'm watching the videos on my laptop connected with Kimber USB to AudioEngine D1 and Shure SE425 , so not really high end stuff at all, but on this video it seriously struck me how it sounded. I'm embarrassed to say I'm not familiar at all with any of the manufacturers aside of Stillpoints and the mentioned Apogee, but dang did it deliver !!! Any input about this guys ??? Seems the fine folks at "Beauty Of Sound " did their home work . Regards .

    How can you tell the sound is good? It's recorded of a microphone and played on whatever speakers or headphones via a soundcard on the computer you've got, every step is a degradation of the soundquality. It does not matter if it was a million-dollar speaker or a budget speaker, the sound will not be better than the quality of the microphone used or the capabilities of your own speakers. And even if your setup is high end, top of the line, they will not have the same sound as the one on the video.

      Dont forget the fact that the records themselves are not infinite sources of hifi that you can extract more detail from endlessly. These are just well mastered and pressed records that will sound good on any system valued above 1000$, let alone 1,000,000$. The mastering engineers and record cutting engineers make them with the base consumer in mind, so I really feel like these types of systems can be ridiculous sometimes. But if you hear a difference then good for you I guess, Ill always be skeptical and presume placebo until Ive truly heard a difference myself.

    Every audiophile knows that when you unbox your new $15,000 turntable the first thing you do is Scotch Tape 3 pennies to the tone arms headshell, you know so the needle really digs into the vinyl for the best possible distortion...lol.

  • @dirtyred2000
    @dirtyred2000 8 років тому

    Why pay so much for a turntable? I have one myself because I prefer some music on vinyl but that is quite absurd. Vinyl is nowhere near the quality of solid state digital music. Maybe it's my preference for the cold audio and stereo bass but Vinyl does not sound as good as digital since the bass is run in mono.

    • @petermartin9494
      @petermartin9494 7 років тому +1

      Don't know much about vinyl, do you?

    • @dirtyred2000
      @dirtyred2000 7 років тому

      I do. There's no need to make a passive aggressive response. Other than certain records sounding different/being perceived as better than a solid state options because of the sound there's not a lot of reasoning. This is coming from someone with a reasonably expensive set up, vinyl weights and all. I'm not hating on the guy who made the video whatsoever. I'm simply curious that's all.

    • @johnmcquay82
      @johnmcquay82 7 років тому +2

      If I had the money for a high end turntable, I would probably spend it. From a technical standpoint, digital recordings have a better signal to noise ratio and a larger dynamic range than an analogue recording. That being said, my listening preferences depend on the type of music and whether or not it's been mastered in a way I would define as being done properly, rather than work by the theoretical numbers. An observation I have made in some instances where the same album is available in multiple formats (Vinyl and CD); the levels on the CD are often normalized to 0dB, making the recording sound loud....to the loss of the dynamics, so it's flat and lifeless. In that case, the vinyl sounds better....not because Vinyl is better, but because the engineer mastering the CD is an idiot (unfortunately, music that sounds loud sells more, so this is common practice). The album Use Me by Vanessa Fernandez, is an example of this very thing; the Vinyl sounds amazing, the iTunes download, Amazon download and CD sound awful.

    • @petermartin9494
      @petermartin9494 7 років тому +3

      " Vinyl is nowhere near the quality of solid state digital music". Who is being "passive aggressive". Firstly the sweeping statement "solid state digital music" is frankly meaningless. There is good and bad quality digital music available and there is good and bad equipment to play it back on. Secondly, analog vinyl contains more information than digital music sources that are CD quality or lower and should produce sound quality that is in some ways superior, as long as the equipment is up to the task.

    • @dirtyred2000
      @dirtyred2000 7 років тому +1

      Peter Martin You can have a recording that goes out to Vinyl and Digital sources(Let's say FLAC for the sake of the argument), solid state will sound better. I'm talking about uncompressed FLAC files not 128-320 KBPS MP3's.... Again, vinyl has bass in MONO so it's a major handicap. It makes the sound signature warmer with SS a bit colder. I'll admit this though, there are certain Nirvana albums that sound better on vinyl than on Solid State.
