I received this 12 inch when I called all the way across the pond to Stiff records. I was 15 and so enamored with "A New England". I told the lady who answered the phone how much I loved it and I could not find a copy anywhere in the US. She was so sweet to me. She sent me a copy of "A New England" and "He's on the Beach" free of charge!. She was amazed how determined I was to get a copy, Needless to say, I was in heaven with both the 12 inches. The good ole days of 1985. I miss it!

This is a great version of the song, and can't possibly be an insult to Kirsty as it was on the original 12" release - I still have the original 12" from 1985 somewhere. One of my favourite tracks of all time, the extra guitar work on this version (by Johnny Marr I believe) is particularly brilliant.
