- In June, musicians, pastors, writers, and scholars from around the country gathered together in NYC to collaborate on a series of worship songs for a new worship record themed around faith and vocation.
The lyrics are from a prayer by Teresa of Avila circa 1571. Music by David Ogden and published by The Royal School of Church Music (admin. by GIA Publications, Inc.). Used by permission.

Josh, I am tone deaf and can not sing. When I get to heaven and I am getting closer as I am 71 years old now), I believe I will be able to sing to the Lord in a beautiful voice! I think that God must be so pleased to hear you sing in your wonderful voice. Appreciate your gift and bless the Lord and us with it. Thank you so much for your deep words and dedication.

Why does this song make me cry each time I listen!!! I am unworthy of the great commission He had given to us. How can a mortal fragile sinful soul be His eyes, hands and feet. Only God can do it.

It’s about becoming the body of Christ that does something other than going to church and doing nothing.

When you give yourself to God and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesus works through us. He uses our eyes , hands, feet, mouth, for his glory and honor to help and bring others to him.

Either by prayer that the world refuses or the actions that God has has charger us will, loving the enemies, sinners, to help the poor and the widows. Too often have we forgotten the work because of salvation.
We are the Church! We are the Messiahs instruments for love and mercy to the orphan, the widow, the immigrant, and to the world drowning in sin.

this song profoundly moves me in jan 2021...a fellow writer, a poet, same age as Josh looks in this video, gave up life a few days ago, he took it, utterly alone & despairing, due to Covid. I only knew too late...this song reminds me how our hands, feet, voices are so vital as we touch other's lives on our journey here on earth...remember that when you meet strangers who appear to have it all but are deeply alone inside 💕

If we take things out of context then the theology is incorrect but within the context of the song, it means we are the body of Christ here on " earth ". We don't see Jesus walking around the streets of Jerusalem now or anywhere physically for that matter. It is us as His Representative and that's what the song is trying to relay that we are to carry on His work by Him living in us and doing the work of the kingdom here on Earth.

viewing this song from a sinners perspective is so incredible, that it depends on us to allow God in us to make decisions in life. We are not prefect but with God and his words we can make better decisions

Jesus is in Heaven, we are His hands and feet here on earth until He returns. We need to be like our saviour as He asked of us. The lady signing is to show us visually what is meant. (Josh songs are great to make you reflect and think, which is a good thing.)

Absolutely beautiful especially when the choir comes into it! The church is the Body of Christ here on earth. Christ has not oly reconciled us to God but also given us the ministry of reconciliation with God making His appeal through us (2 Corinthians 5:20).

I wish you could see this from the Deaf perspective. I am not deaf, but worked as an interpreter for many years. There is no list of lyrics here, no captions on the screen, but someone is signing (which is an actual language that belongs to people)...but the one who is signing is not in the shot most of the time. So who is she signing to? There is no Deaf access to this beautiful song. Signing is an amazing language and a way to include people who want to be a part of what you are doing.
really hope the people from Josh Garrels's team see this and take action! Giving better access to our deaf brothers and sisters is so important!

I understand the objections. I think y'all are missing the key words "on earth". Therefore the theology is intact. St. Teresa de Avila was not mistaken when she wrote this poem. She is saying that "on earth", Jesus does not walk among us with His Glorified Body, which we will only see at the end of Time when He comes again. On earth, we who are the Body of Christ, the Church, must be His Hands and Feet. In the poetic form, she does not repeat the words, "on earth" every single time, but her meaning is clear if you read the whole.

The woman signing made me think about how we have different languages and can learn them basically to a degree. I've heard and thought about the Holy Spirit being tied to language. A Trinity glue. I think that any amazing powers one attributes to God are well-placed. In our everyday lives, the Holy Spirit seems to get forgotten. Our use of language reminds us of him. I'm probably going to join the Roman Catholic church because mainline churches where I live in D.C. are so focused on being progressive that they've reimagined the creeds. This video appealed to me and made me think about language. I think the Trinity is the answer to everything. Well, that would be Jesus. This video works well with that. Thanks again.

Please keep in mind with the lyrics of this stunningly beautiful song (which are taken from a poem written by Saint Teresa of Avila) that they are essentially a poetic reflection on the truths expressed by 1 Corinthians 12:27 and (part of) Colossians 1:24. They are not a literal theological statement and should not taken as such (no Christian can deny the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ). Poetry (and music) is a soaring of the heart to express the inexpressible and we miss its beauty altogether if we apply a strict literalism to it.
Help stray animals you find...not many people really care! Just go door to door and keep asking people to have mercy. That is how we got our tabby girls, a little boy brought his family kittens door to door in a box! When you go to Heaven, you will see every animal you even felt compassion for, like a squashed squirrel. God takes note, and even a sparrow doesn't fall without His knowledge! When our family went on a cruise to Tahiti when I was young, there were starving dogs begging at us as we ate our lunches furnished by the cruise ship! I fed my fried chicken to these dogs and the other passengers started railing at me for feeding starving dogs instead of the starving children around (which I hadn't even seen, they were hiding I guess!) All I could think was that THEY hadn't shared their lunches with ANYONE, dog or human. The irony was lost on them, they were losers giving up on life and looking for someone to be angry with. It's all about "What spirit are ye of?" as Jesus would ask His disciples. Feed the hungry, and look for them in Heaven if they don't make it. Love your neighbour, because if you don't, who will? Also, I have 3 things to say about UA-cam "demon-itizing" of Christian & Triumph videos: "First Amendment Rights", "Monopoly Legislation", & "Class Action Law Suits!" Oh yeah, a 4th, just for Christmas: A "naughty/nice" Santa's list of advertisers that "wouldn't approve" of my alleged religious/political views! Just in time to boycott them for my Holiday Shopping!!! :(

The preface of the song by the young lady with hand gestures is of extreme importance. One of the downfalls of the English language as it comes to bear on church theology and praxis is the ambiguity of the second person personal pronoun. You/Yours: Is it plural or is it singular? I think this obscurity lays at the heart of much of the individualism so prevalent in North America and in the church. Thank you to the young lady who dispels this obscurity and makes it clear: "Yours" in this song is first of all plural.
