Probably the best overland video I’ve seen. Thank you for taking the time to get out of the car an film. Very nice camera work. I used to overland in Venezuela and now building a 4Runner to get back in the trails, and your an inspiration: Hope to meet you on a trail some day.
Found your channel just a few days ago (whilst looking for inspiration for how to set up and use a new Outback here in New Zealand). To be completely transparent and honest, I hope Netflix or one of the major channels discovers you. Its not just the adventures and footage BUT the person that you are. To have an daytime engineer (I think you are) that presents on screen like this is the perfect recipe for a Netflix series. In fact, they need do little, other than take all your productions as they are and hit the 'go' button. Surely its only a matter of time before your success with this channel explodes...ps- it really works having with your truck and its history. Your FJ has a character all of his own..
Such an awesome comment man! Thank you for the words, its very encouraging! I don't think those types of networks pick up channels, but I do hope in the future to film some documentary type of stuff that involves using these kinds of vehicles. The future should be pretty cool! Thank you for tuning in my friend!
I'm always a fan of overlanding videos that allow the geography to speak for itself and also make good use of narration. Thanks for taking the time to get it right.
Amazing trail. Great camera work. Some sketchy safety stuff maybe but oh well. I lol'ed at the comment re: making the wife do more of the work xD Keep up the content!
Haha yeah I know the safety stuff your speaking of, but it’s what happened so I decided to post it. I make mistakes, and especially seeing it on camera I realize it! Thanks for checking it out!
Overland on hard level when youre clearing fallen trees with a leatherman tool. Chainsaw? We dont need no stinking chainsaw! I got my trusty handy dandy Leatherman tool! Epic trip brother! Even better video!
Really enjoyed this one!! Seeing you two out together and working as a team. Stunning views!! And I can’t believe you cut those limbs and trees with a knife saw😂. Nice work!!!
Haha man I slept so good that night! It seriously wore me out. On camera it was 30 seconds of cutting, while it actually took around 3 hours total to clear it all!
Thank you Eric! They are getting better as I learn what people like, and just get better at telling stories. Thank you very much for checking it out and commenting! Feedback is crucial!
Thanks Jake! The videos are definitely getting better, starting to get a good groove and flow of things. I’m looking forward to seeing your refreshed Fj! When’s all that happening?
@@IndependenceOverland my best guess on the bumpers is October. After that, I want to update my suspension and regear, but those probably won't happen until next year. I'm moving to Salt Lake City in the next couple weeks, so a lot is going on. Definitely ready for a trail ride with you and your crew, though!
@@IndependenceOverland I'm taking a new job. There's a small company who offers tourism and custom logistics to Antarctica, I'm their new project and logistics manager.
I really enjoyed this video. You’ve got another subscriber here. This is the same filming style I go for when I’m making videos so I really appreciate all the work that went into this. Especially the drone shots! Good work overall. 🤙
You know, fellow content creators will truly only be the people who understand just how much goes into video production. Especially with a 50+ hour grind on top of it. I really appreciate you checking it out and I will return the favor. Thank you!
@IndependenceOverland, Awesome camping adventure, absolutely beautiful weather and camping, hang loose see you guys on the next adventure camping trip, appreciate your time and effort to bring us your videos, stay safe and safe travels brahda 👍 🤙✌ 👊
Hey Jason, I don’t publicly share most of my trail info to help prevent them from getting over run. I share camp info with Patrons after a few months of supporting the channel. Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it!
Hey Tyler, it’s not actually in the San Juan’s. But I deliberately don’t share locations to a lot of places. You can find it with a little study time on Trails Offroad 😉
I actually don’t think so myself. With both small and large avalanches in these areas during the cold months, lots of trees get destroyed. But who knows!
You wanna know why women live longer than men? Cause we tired of their BS! And decide to punch out early….😂 Otherwise love your videos man keep them coming.
We do on highways, and steep shelf roads where we might roll. I just don’t typically worry about it when I’m bumping down trails. In roll over type situations, we do. Like the scene where Natalia even mentions her seatbelt holding her to the seat. Seriously though, thank you for your concern sir. And thank you for watching 🙏
Interesting commentary: wife’s live longer so trick them to get them to work… you might want to be careful with your words, as there’s a bit of logic missing. Are you trying to say that apples live longer than pears, so be careful in which to bite first (see how logical that is? 🤣😂🤣‼️) Long live misguided analogies!!!

What a compliment! Thank you for the words, and see you on the trails!
I questioned your line on that last obstacle but honestly you crushed it
For cutting branches and even small trees, get a Silky Big Boy. Cuts like butter

Awesome adventure with the FJ 👍🏼
One for the books! 🤟🏻
Great video, you two! My wife and I just purchased a 4Runner and we are itching to get it up to Colorado.
Colorado is the definitely the place to test it out!
Awesome! Great video and story telling. Amazing!! Your channel should boom in viewership.
Thank you for the compliment Clint! I hope it does!
this was so cool
Thanks for checking it out!
Nice Job
That was a good one. Discovered your channel recently and watched a few so far. Some good stuff ... So! I subscribed. Keep up the good work.
Your awesome, thank you! More soon!
So cool and really enjoyed the journey!!!
Thanks for checking it out Dave! It was a good one!
Yep, I think that trail separated the men from the boys 😂… it seemed like you struggled quite a bit. Cool video though.
Yeah, 33’s and a heavy truck can only do so much, but that’s what winches are for!

Where is this trail? What is the name of it? Anyone know?

Very happy to hear it! Thank you for checking it out!
You guys make some really great videos! Definitely inspired to get my Fj out this summer (possibly on some of those trails too).
Thank you Matthew! Get out there and explore bud!
absolutely breathtaking episode. Natalie must be a music major? what do you call that little pot she was hammering? thanks for the ride.
That is called a Hapi Drum. Super fun little instrument that is kind of like playing a wind chime. Perfect for camping! Thank you for watching Jim!
Tricking your wife part had me LOL
🤣
Those looked like the Bigfoot Bushcraft Fire Plugs. Just ordered some. What do you think?
I actually have 6 max tracks! LOL
I am about to replace my tires on my fj and after watching this video. I will upgrade to 35s even I can say bye bye to my mpg lol
Yeah 35s would be awesome. I considered getting some for this year, but with the new truck coming before too long I think I will wait.
For the rock crawl areas did you put the vehicle in 4L or 4H
If your crawling, always use 4L.
We make a yearly trip to Colorado for trails. Which one was this?

Hey Tyler, it’s not actually in the San Juan’s. But I deliberately don’t share locations to a lot of places. You can find it with a little study time on Trails Offroad 😉

Thank you sir! I am near Glenwood Springs
the time lapse at the end tho
I love a good time lapse!
What trail is this?
Sorry Robert, I don’t share that kind of stuff unless it’s a widely known one.
Those trees were definitely intentional.
I actually don’t think so myself. With both small and large avalanches in these areas during the cold months, lots of trees get destroyed. But who knows!
The bypass was closed intentionally by CORE, too many people were damaging trees and such going around the obstacle.
Thanks for that, I was curious!
Someone needs a wireless winch remote 😬
I have one now!
