Great video! I also use my whey in homemade mayo. It’s funny how modernized we are here (and sad). Most countries that don’t have refrigeration, use cultured foods on a daily basis. And here, we are afraid of it. Thanks again ladies! Very good interview!

Eeek. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Lord led me to you. 3 years ago I was living in suburban hell. Today we’re free on our new homestead and we just give so much thanks for helping get us to this point! You were definitely an inspiration! Now we’re devouring Joel Salatin and going up to polyface farms. God Bless you and yours!

I grew up in a dairy farm and anytime the milk from a cow couldn’t be put in the bulk tank ( like the last milking after a penicillin treatment) my Mom would fill her big canner with the milk and set it behind the wood range until it set up . All she used is a wooden spoon and that canner I don’t think she even owned a thermometer. Yum I love homemade cheese !

This is great. I am a fan of both of you girls and here you are together!
I am presently stirring a 5 gallon pot of milk making a farmhouse cheddar.
I make a 5 gallon pot every day. I've gotten to where I can make it from memory.
Making cheese feels like a super power!!

I’m no homesteader but I learned to make ricotta and if you can make yogurt you can make ricotta and it’s delicious!

So cool!! Random thought, maybe whey would be great for blueberry bushes? I could be wrong, but I *think* I remember that they prefer acidic soil and that is an issue for some people.

I don't know if there is any reason to do this but I use whey to brine chicken. And it was good!

I've heard if freeze drying whey is a good way to use it.

You can soak your grains in whey :)
Does she sell any of her cheeses?
