Good info and very informative! Since I am just getting into the field of electronics, I'd probably follow the same method that I have working on any new equipment or machine which is to take photos or notes so I know how everything was positioned, connected, etc. because even if you pay attention to how something needs to be soldered back on, if you do not get to it promptly, when you continue working on it hours or days later, good luck remembering how it was. Another good practice might be to not remove the original bad part until the replacement is in your hands first.
