Gosh, that brings back memories of my childhood in 50's London. The mums used to have them all week, especially on Fridays when they did their hair for the weekend. It made for a rather lumpy style but better than a mass of curlers.
hahahah Yes! My hairdresser tells me of the days when she started, when the all the ladies would come in on a Saturday morning to have their hair set, it was just the thing you did!
If I need to use bobby pins, where they will be showing, I use nail polish to paint them a color that matches (camouflages into) my scarf. Thank you for the videos.
Mam used to wear a turban when I was young. but she tucked in the ends rather than make a pretty bow. Love how you’ve tied it. Do you know what was behind this fashion trend? It was at a time when a married woman didn’t work - they stayed home to raise children and care for their husband. As the men had gone to war a lot of the women went to work in the factories, on the farms, etc. They had to tie up their (usually) long hair for safety. Someone decided that it would be a good idea if all the women tied up their hair (even though they didn’t need to tie it up when they were at home) but make it pretty. In support of the working girls, all the women started tying up their hair to show their support and appreciation of what the working girls were doing to help their country. A lovely sentiment.
Its fun to come across this years later when your way of videomaking has shifted and you look so much more confident in front of the camera now! (This also confirms I have neckerchiefs rather than headscarves!)
@@Evelyn__Wood I definitely wouldnt say awful just a little uncomfortable 😂 cant blame though, starting something like this has got to be weird to get used to at first!
You are very inspiring Lady :-). Thank you a lot for you and all of yours videos. Do you have any tips, where to get perm net. Tried to search, but didn't find.

This is genius! I've been looking around for ages for very small hair nets and the perm net is perfect.
They work wonders!!

It would be great if you could show how to properly use bobby pins with a turban. I have a terrible time with them!
Nice!
What dimensions should the scarf be? I want to make sure I see one that’s big enough
I think move were about 40cm x 40cm or something like that!
I have a hard time finding square scarfs. any place in particular you can find them?
Tammy square scarfs are all I find in thrift stores! I have trouble finding rectangle ones! I would suggest every thrift store you pass!
