Your video helped me a lot! I had to change the back cover and I didn't have to pay any technician because when I saw your video, I saw that it was easy.
The battery expanded on mine and I was waiting for a new battery to arrive. the back glass shattered from the pressure of the expanding battery. What a pain in the ass. How can you tell you have the finger print reader in proper alinement to meet the pins before gluing it together?
Goddammit. Just opened up my phone thinking i wouldnt need it but okay. Guess ill wait for the back to come off inconveniently before going out to buy tape :p
Nice video. I already have a replacement battery plus I just tonight ordered a replacement back glass cover. Double faced tape, B-700 glue and clamps at my basement repair station 🚉.
Same! I take a needle every once in a while and clean out the crack around my phone to get the crusty hand dirt out, and I guess I got some of the adhesive off because it started to pry open a little. Well I said let me try to pry it the rest of the way off to clean it good under the cover and it made a bunch of cracks all in the back of the glass while I was trying to pry it off. Ugh, I've never had a phone like this where I couldn't just pry open the back panel. I didn't know the glass would break that easily! That's BS! 😩😭
I have an issue where the back is fine, but the one side (bottom left) somehow lifted up from the phone itself and will not close no matter how much pressure (don't worry, not enough to break it) I give. I don't want to have to take the whole thing off just for one side, and can't really afford the glue and everything else. As sadly I'm on a fixed disability income in Southern Ontario Canada. Dollarama has been the only thing I can afford and sometimes I can't even afford stuff from there as they went up to a max of $6 for things. This phone is my only connection and without it I'll have literally nothing else. Sadly it also took over 3 years to save for while having to use an old phone (also used yet factory reset) that was on its last legs and crapped out 3 months before I was able to get this one. And yes, my cellphone is exactly like the one in the video. The only thing wrong with mine was a barely there scratch on the back that's only noticable if pointed out. If this phone goes I'll be without completely for another few years till I can come up with $150 for another used android off Facebook marketplace that's hopefully the same android version as this phone.
@@defylifeadventure That's bullshit, but go ahead believe an electronics manufacturer. who's only objective is to hock their devices on who will buy them.

why do you remove the original waterproof glue on the back glass (02:38) and replace it with new double-sided glue?
Because the adhesive isn’t that sticky anymore or might be bunched up in some areas. Changing the adhesive will give it a better seal.
Why did you even ask that question? there isn't anything waterproof about that phone.
Is the red duct tape necessary to repair phone?
It's highly recommended if you want the back to stay on
@@RealWorldReview Thanks

Which double-sided tape did you use in this video?
Great quality video. Helped so much!
Hey bro... I have a question, all lg g7 thinq have an adapter wireless battery?
Not sure what that means
Nice video. I already have a replacement battery plus I just tonight ordered a replacement back glass cover. Double faced tape, B-700 glue and clamps at my basement repair station 🚉.
When you had the crack in the glass was the actual back plate of the phone broken inside or the cracks are only on the glass finish?
Only the glass
What about front glass? Is it the same strategy?
Nope, start from the back. Like the LG G6
@@RealWorldReview Why? My digitiser and LCD absolutely fine. Just the front glass has a crack.
My back cover isn't broken but one portion is popping off; should I just put more adhesive on it or what?
Sounds like the battery might need to be replaced if it's popping up on the right side
@@RealWorldReview What if it's popping up on the left side? We keep our phone on a wireless charger so it stays pretty hot.
@@thedanmonster2187 Sounds like your battery is expanding, if you're talking about the right side of the phone when you're looking at the back.
@@RealWorldReview Thank you
What type of glue did you use?
Use the T7000.
Thank you very much!
It’s helped me a lot!
What I search in Amazon to buy the back paner

I love LG phones.and love your video🤗
The toughest part is to align the fingerprint scanner so that it will connect properly to the circuit.
Excellent video.
B7000 waterproof or not
It's supposed to be but I wouldn't rely on it

Hi.What glue or tape is recommended to maintain water resistance? Should I proceed as in the video or look for another glue?
I tried to open the back to properly place back my sim card cause it wasn't detected. Let's just say, it did not go well

So now I've got the back glass taped with clear packing tape until I can get the stuff to fix it. I should have just left it alone. 🤦♂️
Same 😂😭😭
I'm not going to waste my time on a POS phone. Im just going to get another phone.

Now put it in a glass or water to test the work ;)

@@musicauthority7828 Not now haha. From the factory the phone is rated IP68 so water resistant up to 1.5m for 30 mins.

What a joke I'll just get another phone.
