  • This video is all business, showing you how to make a plant propagation station from wood. We may offer an item like this in the shop soon. In this video, I make a custom holder for some acrylic test tubes that will serve as perfect vessels for holding plant cuttings. This item is very similar to a test tube rack. It is basically a fancier test tube rack. I will link to where I got the tubes below. We'll start with some Black Walnut that is on the lighter side but not quite sapwood. The star of this show will be my new sliding compound miter saw, but you can choose different joinery if you don't want to glue up miters. You could use simple butt joints (heh) or half lap for an even stronger item. I chose to do mitered corners to get practice with my new saw...and style of course. As always, feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Artisans and Arthropods is a direct selling woodworking business. We sell online and in person. Thanks for watching and for all of your support =)

I like how the miters turned out but I'd probably go with rabbets next time for joinery if we were to try and sell this product. That would be a faster, stronger glue-up but would involve the router. How many cuttings do you all think one of these needs to accommodate? Let me know what you think in the comments =)
