Best light out there for urban edc. Dead simple UI, light comes on in low mode every time. None of that silly memory functionality. Nothing worse than turning on your light and forgetting it was on high when you want low. I have the Lumitop EDC AA, but don't care for it much due to having to remember what the hell mode it is in. Also the step-down of this Olight is spot on. Two step-downs and that's it, great light production.
@hitachi088 Nothing new to me. I have two of the S1 Mini Baton's - they don't make them anymore. They came in two different versions. I have the 450 lumens at 90 CRI but 5500K color temperature, which allows the light to reproduce colors of the illuminated object perfectly. I don't carry anymore as I don't care for cr123 as a power source. I like ubiquitous batteries such as AA and dead simple UI's. I'm not trying to survive in the wild, I just need to illuminate objects at home and on dog walks.
@@JadeGeminiM390 Totally get it! The I5R did that for me. I am (or used to be) a knife collector. That ended when I found LT Wright's Bushbaby 3/32" HC and the Bushcrafter 3/32" HC. The perfect front pocket carry fixed blade for me. Interesting when you find the perfect fit, it kind of kills hobby or at least the search!
Great review sir. I am on the fence on this one but am closer to pulling the trigger now; especially because I recently misplaced my S1R2. This would be a no brainer if it had a moonlight though. Ultimately I’m trying to find a good, budget AA size with a moonlight.
It's a great light. Like almost all Olights. Especially for free) But it looks a little bit big for AA flashlight. If you're comfortable with this size, you can go a tiny bigger & get some of 18650 flashlights with much higher firepower and longevity. For smaller lights Pineapple is an excellent choice. Or you can go with Streamlight Microstream witch is my go to smaller edc light of all times. And thanks for your video. Great job. As always ;)
I5r eos ti is my edc of choice for close up flood needs. I have on my other holster left side a thrunite tn12 pro as my daily thrower defensive light. 2 is 1 and 1 is none is my religion.
That light would have been better if it's rechargeable battery was 14500 not proprietary cuz it makes us harder to buy that specific battery when it dies. We don't have an Olight Service Center here in my place but it's easier to buy 14500 online.
You can use this flashlight with ather 14500 batteries, you just shouldn't use this proprietary battery in ather flashlights. In manual is stated that it is compatible with AA and nothing about 14500's but you can easily find info about this on forums. Ather lithium batteries may change characteristics of the output . Have a nice one

My Rook with 519 4000k hasn’t really left my pocket for more than a month. Kinda broke the hobby because it practically perfect for what I use

Thanks for the review. I just recently got an i3t and i1r. Never thought about how and ways to turn on light.
Yeah it’s weird but at least with other lights it just matters? Who knows 🤷♂️

You should definitely check out my mini pineapple and D4V2 videos if your into lights and ones that are not huge in the pocket.
Great video. Love that silver flashlight with those different lights on it. What kind, Thanks.
That is a Noctigon KR4 Titanium
@@JadeGeminiM390 Thank you very much it looks awesome!
I have two of them I like them so much

Put some nano oil in the pivot of that penguin...it's thirsty dude!
Is the default light output HIGH MODE or Low Mode ?
It’s low then high.

I dont think so. The 14500 dont have much run time. Olight was looking for longer runtime what makes more sense for this kind of light.

@@Gieszkanne absolutely, they did really good work on this one.
what knife was that?
Brown one was a QSP Penguin. The orange one is a Doug Ritter RSK MK1 G2. It’s is sold at KnifeWorks website exclusively. Both amazing knives!
@@JadeGeminiM390 thank you,subscribed
