Last year, Marc of Long Island Watch and TGV launched the Islander X The Urban Gentry ISL-226. This was a limited number handwind field watch. This watch was one I had to have. Being a huge fan of TGV, he helped me with content when I was getting into watches. This watch sports a charmful 37mm case that is thin. It has an impressive full lume dial and skeletonized gold movement under its rugged...

No one can beat military/ tactical watches
i have this green one.
Love that the lid screws on and is not just pushed down. Had a lid on a Yeti come off and spilled the whole thing in my lap. But, you need to know which side you want the opening in the lid to be on. If you use the handle, the opening has to be facing you and can end up on the other side.
I bought my A2T five years ago and have worn it constantly since then. It has been on about 15 overnight hikes and has stood up to river crossings (and submersions). Plenty of falls, knocks and hard use. Although now with a little "character" it still works well. In my opinion this watch has five features that make this an extremely robust field watch: 1. Waterproof to 200m. 2. Raised edge of the watch protects the glass surprisingly well. 3. The recessed and offset watch crown protects the winding stem. 4. The attachment of the watch strap is though bars that are integral to the watch. NOT through pin bars. 5. The body of the watch is made from titanium and so is very light. On number 4. I once fell while walking the Louisa Plains in southwest Tasmania. Buried my left arm up to the shoulder in mud. One of the pin bars on my watch must have brocken leaving my expensive Seiko in the mud never to be retrieved. I have been dubious of pin bars in watches ever since. One last thing. The lume on the watch is quite good.
Right?
I got a bloody nose from watching this. Loose tooth also.
many of these button presses are actually designed pretty intuitively, in my opinion! for example: off to on: 1 click. easy. lockout to off: 3 clicks. lockout to on: 4 clicks (because 3 turn off lockout, +1 to turn it on from there) what's notable is that, to the firmware, 3C+1C and 4C are likely NOT actually the same thing, as far as i'm aware ToyKeeper would've had to actually make it so these intuitive combos work like you'd expect them to. without that work, 4C from lockout might've just done nothing, you would have to 3C, wait, and then 1C. there are many other examples like this, for example in the way you control which way the brightness will ramp. basically, yes, anduril has a lot of stuff to remember, but if you keep in mind that there's only 1 input (button) and more or less 1 output (the LEDs) to work with, it is _shockingly_ well designed for the functionality it offers, and ToyKeeper is obviously putting a lot of work into keeping it as user friendly as it can possibly be within these limits.

wow thats so hardcore, tactical, military and so field watch wooow
I come back to this every other month when I forget how to change between lithium and batt. Thx. Edit (moon + 3 clicks). Lol
I've got three Spyderco Manix 2 LW knives, in CPMSV110 (Blue, CPMS90V (Orange), and CPM MagnaCut (Yellow). The size and shape of the FRN handle is very user friendly, and the ball-bearing lock is completly ambidextrous (I'm left-handed). This MagnaCut version has become a routinely-used fishing utiiity knife for me, as a 30-year SouthWest Alaska resident - for fish cleaning/gutting/heading/tailing. The only dowside I see on the this knife is that, as a folding knife it allows more external exposure than a fixed blade,. That said, I've been using it a lot for freshwater salmon fishing.
Wow! Absolutely love,the green colour.cant wait,to buy it,he,he.
I got that color. One thing to note is that the color will change in time depending on what sort of clothes you wear. Mine got a red/pinkish hue around the edges, but if anything, it makes it look like it's a 2 tone color.
Love the dial but it is way too flat on the back and 22mm lugs look bad on it.
China crap
Quartz piece a sheeet
you might want to fix your lighting to much shadows maybe overhead is better than on the side.
Thank you for the review! Because of your review, I went with the Stanley for two reasons: 1 - you said after 4 hours the ice melted and 2 - there was a sticker that said ice lasts 2 days! For me ice is important. It's about keeping the drink at about 33 - 34 degrees for a day.
Someone give me an advice. I’m still stuck for my first spyderco between manix 2 salt and native 5 salt for daily user. I work in office and in weekend I cut ton of boxes and bags of paraffin wax and maybe around the house diy helper. Looking for an user knife that I won’t need another one in a year or 2.
As another person below said, the knives are basically identical besides the lock. The native is around $16 cheaper msrp. I think it just comes down to preference. Either is gonna do you great!!
I got the Sheepsfoot version last week, and also picked up a QSP Penguin. Carrying the Penguin currently/first because I think if I carried the Raccoon first, I would not have gotten to the Penguin.
Just bought a UTX-85 II Stepside with a dagger-style blade and one full serrated edge! Super excited!!!
I took sand paper to round off my corners. Started with 600 and worked up to 1500 all the way around.
Really enjoyed your love for this watch.
Does it have solar power?
No, this one is just battery powered.
Interesting! Might have helped to show people the flowchart diagram, perhaps post a link to one. You taught me that the strobe modes were adjustable! Thanks, you got a new sub. If you are ever bored, consider a how and why to adjust the temperature step down point, and what we need to know NOT to do. 😜 Some of the higher settings are a black hole for me. Thanks!
Link ?
One thing I’ve learned is that you’ll never get it perfect or at least what perfect is to you, and trying to get it perfect will just mess it up even more
Great, thank you👍
Your moving hands are so annoying.
You do get current time with the GW-M5610U.
No solar and no MB. Color reminds me of my GWX-8900C.
What’s the correct way to install the gasket?
What’s the light?
I bet you could do a great kermit impression!
👍
cheap flashlight, horribile costumer service, you get what you pay for
Spyderco.
Love my Manix 2
Thanks for your review. Ended up with a A-4T Super Yankee model, mainly because of size. ( A 40mm watch is too small for me.) Basically the same watch with some upgrades, like Swiss movement (which BTW, still don't line-up) hardened Sapphire crystal, etc. Found it on Amazon with 50% off, so it was a no-brainer. This is my introduction to Bertucci watches, and I like it so far. I have a Hamilton Khaki field in my collection and even though it has "prettier" finishes, I love the toughness and rough feeling of the Bertucci. Definitely a great watch for the money!
Super excited for you! I would love to see you post it. I’m on the discord for the Chrono Collective and the Watch discord if you wanna chat and meet other enthusiasts! discord.gg/aZEP453J discord.gg/watches
Uh… No. -Army Officer and Watch Enthusiast
Hey, how is the eye god going, dude?
Does the screen light activate with wrist movement?
yes. you have to set it up. but after 30 minutes it turns itself off to conserve battery.
6:36 PWM?
I put a Lynch blacksmith deep carryclip on mine and it looks great. Black and yellow works. 🐝 Is it fancy? No. Is it perfect in all other areas? Yes. I have many high end knives but this one is in my pocket and Spyderco is just an amazing and honest company that makes superb knives with superb quality steels. Period.
Bro is about to have an orgasm over a cup.
Your timing is perfect. I'm about to get a ga2100-3a and I'm going to be changing the rubber out immediately. Thanks bro! This helps a lot.
Yuk
Bugout sucks waste of money
I wouldn’t exactly agree with you! I do feel like it has aged not as well with its current S30V steel. If it was 135 still then it would be a great knife. But at $181 when a MAGNACUT Doug Ritter Hogue is around that same price.
Benchmade overall sux with their prices.
@@JadeGeminiM390 couldn't agree more
Where to buy at a good price??
www.watches.com/collections/bertucci-watches This is where I bought mine. There seems to be a Father’s Day discount code of “DAD15” for 15% off. Good prices here for all the titanium Bertuccis. Happy shopping!
@@JadeGeminiM390 thank you!
I had so many disappointments in this much touted model… I returned it same day and ordered the Bluetooth step tracker G-SHOCK with great lcd immunization at night and visible during the day even for older eyes. Also better size for larger adult wrists. The Casioak hype seems to be never ending., but to each his/her own . Why Casio makes more models than grains of sand on the beach.
