20:53 to be fair the eggs in Japan literally don't have salmonella in them. Many japanese people just eat raw egg yolk with their rice or atleast that's what i've seen
Most eggs don’t have salmonella IN them to be honest. That’s true in the US as well. Unfortunately alot of people in the US were misinformed as kids that raw eggs has salmonella in it , (mostly by mothers trying to keep us from eating the batters of baked sweets before they were finished) when in actuality salmonella is on the outside of the eggshell. As long as the outside of your egg has been sanitized, which most eggs usually are, they’re pretty safe to eat raw. Unless you’re dumb and get a lot of raw eggshell in your mouth. So TLDR: US eggs are fine raw, the outside eggshell contains salmonella sometimes if your eggs are dirty, and a LOT of Americans don’t realize it’s ok to nibble on some cookie dough.
Yeah that's not true. Salmonella rates in Japan are similar to rates in most other developed countries with modern egg farming, which is to say low. It's just that the Japanese food safety guidelines are less strict because eating raw eggs is a cultural practice and Japan tries its best to preserve those. You only hear about eggs not being safe to eat in the US because US food safety guidelines are much stricter on animal products, not because Japanese eggs don't have salmonella. Somehow the myth eggs are safe in Japan spread and nobody cares to actually check, just parrot false information. The whole idea salmonella doesn't exist in Japan is ridiculous.
@@Toastybees The rates of Japan's salmonella cases are fairly lower comparatively to the USA, by half really. 0.0029% rate of an egg having S. enterica from the U.S.A's 0.0050%. Also Japan has stricter guidelines upon their chickens regarding upkeep and the health of each egg. Relatively 90% of eggs with salmonella have been eliminated in modern ages and since 2022 have faced dwindling cases of food poisoning. Figures from back in 1996-1999 in Japan, 10,000+ people would suffer from food poisoning annually to since 2022 lower than 3000 a year will ever suffer from food poisoning, and stats show it is a figure getting lower and lower with the years.

About the cats: furless is bad but hypo allergenic animals are more often ethically bred. If you are worried about independence there are some breeds that would be best. So IDK if you are allergic to the fel d 1 or 4 protein but the best breeds would be: Siamese, Devon Rex, Cornish Rex, Russian Blue, Balinese, and Siberian. This is just based on producing lower amounts of the protein. Bengal is also an option but those ones are expensive and not great for first timers.
sobbing eating my pb&j sandwich rn 😭 as for those egg pancakes, sounds like they're probably 800 yen, about $5 usd, so not a dollar but DAYUM still a pretty good price

I used to be allergic to cats too until a stray comes and stay with us. Now, years later, after some headache, constant sneezes and watery eyes, my body just developed immunity to them. I used to have headaches, sneezes non-stop, and always have watery eyes, but now that shit happens maybe once or twice a year. I went from having to wash my hands every time I'm touching them to being able to smother my face in their furs.😊

Kenji not sure if you'll see this but I am also severely allergic to cats, but I take a special medicine so that I can have one. I would look into it if you really truly want a cat cause it's helped me so much with mine.

50:30 Kenji saying that he wants a Russian Blue cat that can cost up ti 2,000 dollars but, here I am with my Russian Bule who I got for free from a car engine. XD
For your cat allergies, buy powdered egg yolk from chickens raised around cats. Sprinkle its on your cats food, definitely helps with cat allergies! You could of course buy the premade food, but the powder is more cost effective.
About that thing Kenji didn't knew the name of. It's called Pig net or Pork net i believe (just a translation from the german word Schweinenetz). It's basicly a skin that lays around the organs and holds them together.
I don't know about today, but back then, whenever a fairly skinny relative of mine went to Japan for work, they almost always come back having gained at least 50-60% more weight.
