    Looking at pricing models in a more general way it becomes clear that oftentimes they have to evolve to be better aligned with the value that customers get. This may start with simply counting calls but should evolve to be more aligned with the value that customers are getting.
    When pricing changes this oftentimes also will impact the product. In our discussion the example is that the data retention period was extended so that customers can more easily experience and understand the value of the product. But that means that the product now has to handle a larger volume of stored data, which impacts the product itself.
    In the end, pricing models are as varied as the products out there. But we do see trends in how pricing models evolve and the examples we are discussing are representative of a broader trend in the industry. Here are some related resources to check out:
