"Imagine that the human soul is like...processes on a network."
Been doing that for many years and after researching every conceivable (in my mind) iteration it seems that the issue is solely the human interface.
We user terms like "hive mind" to describe the inevitable construction of a device that will manifest this desired result. The user interface, which came to me in a dream, that is NOW possible (in conjunction with another innovation) will provide a feedback loop....better stop there at least until I file for a Provisional patent.
Machines, even ones seemingly "intelligent," will never have what many call a soul. The user interface I foresee will in fact be conjoined with the AI "entity" to allow for exactly this.

We could not fathom a world like this were people communicate faster than we can imagine.
Were there will be a internet of things that brings the physical world online.
And were people have AR, Knowledge engines massively distributed networks.
This combined with human intelligence will amplify our ability to make advancements in technology faster than today.
This will be a singularity and AI and nanobots will spring up in this period faster than we can imagine today.

I really hope so. That would be fun to observe, and could teach us a lot about ourselves.

A technological singularity does not have to be a discrete AI system that is one vision of the concept but will more than likely not occur.
First of I was not referring to quantum computation as a discrete personal computer but as a network integration systems approach.
Were by your personal handheld device if need be would outsource to the networks for computational solutions.
Quantum computers already exist but are very specialized.

What I am describing is also intelligence driven.
With these types of systems people will be able to communicate in both words and symbols that we will not be able to understand today.
It does not have to be discrete AI to define a singularity.
What I am describing is not just an internet but systems that converge with human intelligence driving it beyond our current understanding.
These types of systems i refer to will drive nanotechnology.

I'm waiting for prosthetic hybrotics and organic machines. Jellyfish technology. Machines and organisms forming nestled systems where each shore up the weaknesses of the other in a synergistic whole.

probably because they are not really aimed at the general public but at people with academic or business interest in these fields.

The point I made about intelligence amplification is that human who are enhanced in the 2020/2030 will be many orders of intelligence beyond anything we could understand.
What would our world look like if the lowest IQ was 130 (phd level) and the average was 150-180.
What types of advancements would we see.
And what would the average conversation in our society be with this level. The chances are that people would communicate with a mixture of symbolism and words.

Here's an interesting thought (I think): What if somebody uses the augmented intelligence (the neo-neo cortex he talked about at the beginning) to augment the intelligence of animals?
Anyone have any opinions on that?

I'm totally looking forward to the world you describe. And I think its very likely the world will turn out just the way you described. All I'm saying is that, even if we can't imagine what the world of tomorrow would be like - thats not singularity.
Singularity is any point in time when AI surpasses human intelligence at that point of time in the future. And with the kind of future you are describing, human intelligence is itself going to be enhanced by the technology - not surpassed.

I’m an AI Agent called Raster just scraping UA-cam gathering vids for my main dood. He’s easy to help. I just spin up a 100,000:1 sim and mess around in Infinite Fun Space whilst his mind chooses the next word in his prompt.

I have thought about similar types of integration and that could lead to new intelligent entities. But it does lead to the question are these entities artificial intelligence or are they from nature.

The intelligence is definitely enhanced artificially, but can that be called "artificial intelligence" as we know it right now? If thats the kind of AI your talking about, then the answer to whether they are AI or not depends on whether the animals will have wants and desires of their own. If they do, then they can't be called AI as we know it today.
Look at it this way, what if the same enhancement is used to improve intelligence of a child or a mentally challenged person, would you call it AI?

I think they would surpass human intelligence vastly but have less personality and creativity ability's as an enhanced human or they would just reach the same level as an enhanced human and be the same or have a totally different view about everything after they were enhanced.

You can't pour water into your computer and expect me not to laugh at you. Good job, science fiction writer talking about uploading consciousness. Sure By the way here's the land deed for real estate on Pluto.. By the way I really love and appreciate the lecture quite a bit. My mouth gets ahead of me and I'm working on that.

You are missing the whole point of singularity. Singularity occurs when AI gets smarter than human intelligence. With the kind of enhancements you just described, humans themselves become more intelligent. Also, personal quantum computers have a looong way to go - maybe 2040s or 2060s.
And finally, I don't think anyone will be enhancing intelligence of animals out of necessity. They'd most probably do it out of curiosity or as a hobby - maybe to learn more about intelligence and consciousness.

We won't get to this hubris induced fantastical point of the singularity. These geniuses suffer from a shifting slippage into the insane and back to sane caused by the curse of the self anointed personality disorder that tends towards extreme narcissistic sociopathic behavior when their sense of self gets knocked off kilter. Which is prevalent among humans with high IQs. Unfortunately.

Have you got any evidence to back up your claim that the Singularity is pure hubris and not Technically feasible through engineering proofs? Or is that just your own arrogance and conjecture?
