This Jazz Piano Exercise is GREAT for Hand Independence

- These Jazz Piano Exercises are great for introducing more hand independence to our playing. If you've been struggling with playing the piano with both hands, then this video is DEFINITELY for you!
This jazz piano exercise takes a simple D Dorian scale (playing all white keys on the piano) and enhances it with accompaniment in the left hand. By adding a little bit of syncopation, you can create a very musical exercise that you can take through all 12 keys.
Switching this exercise to play the scale in the left hand immediately makes things sound like walking bass, another very challenging technique for students to learn. This gives you a much more methodical approach and is very musical sounding.

Thanks for watching!
Love these, been practicing stuff like this an hour a day for the past 10 days and it's good to have new inspiration
Awesome!
This was a little too cool. Actually, way too cool. Merci.
Thank you!
Damn bro i love you
Great stuff! Typically, which fingers on your left hand would you use for this?
For chords, I always say do what’s most natural for your hands. When playing the bass line, I tend to have my index finger hit the top note, so I’m crossing over my thumb near the top of the scale. Hope this helps!
what is this program that shows the name of chords as you play them
ChordieApp, it's available on gumroad
