Guiding Kayakers down the Cheoah River NC
Thanks for Watching!
When one enters the mature stages of WW boating...it's as much fun introducing new folks to the sport as a first descent !
👍 yup!!
Thats for sure!
Agreed!
Respect to you and all other river kayak guides.. This group is solid, but it is really hard as a guide to keep novices (like me) together/safe. Especially if they have trouble catching smaller eddies and still swim once in a while.
Thanks Geoff!
Looking forward to my PFD next weekend!!!🔥 Thank you for the beta brother man!
yeah buddy will see you out there!
Sitting here watching them all too 😂😂🙌🏼🙌🏼 thanks Wade !
That's awesome. I wish I could do that someday! What's the process to get to that level?
Once you learn the basics it’s just time in the boat and refinement
That perfect *doink* sound at 12:15 has me dead laughing.
😂 yeah sometimes funny moments just seem to happen
We can’t get enough of your videos Wade!! So awesome. You’re such a great teacher.
Thanks buddy I have more coming
@@WadeHarrison Awesome man we're such a fan seriously!
So awesome seeing Jen in your video! She always makes for a great day on the water!
yes she is great
Haha I love following you on new rivers. Reminds me of the time you had me attain up to the eddy near the end and as i flipped into the eddy you just shake your head and say dont flip lol
Yeah buddy we need to get out again sometime
thank you for this post and the Green video, shows that with the right attitude and a good coach it's possible to tackle the rivers of the SE
Well said!
Very good guidance. Nice run. Hope to give it a whirl one day, even if only in my dreams.
Go for it!
Wade what class are these Rapids? It's gorgeous but looks like an angry washing machine lol. I love yaking, but uh this is a firm no for me lol. Of course I've only done 1 and 2 class rapids lol.
The Cheoah River has 2 sections upper and lower the rapids range from easy class 3 to difficult class 4 “possible” class 5 in one section? but my rating for the entire River I would say it’s a class 4 run
@@WadeHarrison oh ok wow. Everyone's skills are quite impressive. Thank you for sharing!
That river looks fun as crap...dam released flow...?...looks awfully clear.
Patrick Caple it’s Dam controlled and has about 12 releases a year
@@WadeHarrison Sweet
Turn in arrrre
👍 yup
Would love to see more videos like this!
I will see if can link up and do some more
SO many strainers omg
Timy C yeah there is spots you don’t want to be on this one
How are these guys 1st timers ? They sure look like they know what they're doing to me !
Good point thank you for pointing this out 👌🏻 very misleading thumbnail this is their first time on this river not 1st timers to kayaking
@@WadeHarrison That's what I figured, cause they're pretty good !! Happy paddling buddy !!
Updated 😜
Great Video!
Thanks buddy
Awesome
Thanks buddy
Looks fun
its a classic
What size Alpha are you paddling
I’m in the 75
@@WadeHarrison Hey Wade, wanna guide me and Jarrod and one or two others down?
Scott Hinchman sure let’s set something up
@@WadeHarrison Hey Wade, Super curious. I have a 90 and weigh 185 geared up. Does the 75 give greater control due to longer waterline?
You are a good paddler. When guiding people down … consider actually running the rapid instead of catching eddies and then telling them how to run it from the Eddy,.. quit showing off and just guide them down. You can play boat on your own time. Just my opinion. Good run.. good times.. luckily no one got hurt or stuck somewhere.
Hahah Free 3 person guide service on multiple rivers looks like a case of get what you pay for…
Thanks for the tips 😉
