  • Nila and I made it out for another Cheoah release. Same as last time it was big, fast, and munchy, but probably the best day ever. The Cheoah River runs only a handful of weekends throughout the year, making it hard to catch but boy is it worth it. This is definitely my favorite run in the Southeast.

Good stuff man! Love seeing couples out there charging it. My wife and I have been R2’n together for over 20 years and we love how we have to work together on so many different levels. Love to paddle with y’all.

@@Highwaterahead out of curiosity, how long have you and your wife been rafting? We are both into outdoor sports, my wife actually did her first gravel bicycle race a few days prior to our trip to TN/NC. We have done tourist whitewater before but were curious about how difficult a run like the Cheoah was and how much experience someone needs to tackle that type of river?

@@tredmer I’ve been rafting as a guide since 2019 and her since 2018! The cheoah is definitely one of the more challenging runs in the southeast. We definitely built up to it over time not something you want to be your first run. But if you go with a guide that usually makes it a little bit easier (more paddle power, heavier boat, etc.)
