That 3299 must be one of the best modules Casio ever made, especially in terms of price/performance. My resin World Time is also somewhere between -0.5 and -1 seconds per month and I paid 18€ for that thing.
I wore one of those for over 7 years, it was my beater watch. I absolutely loved it! I gave it to my brother because his watch died on him, and a few months later he smashed it against a traffic sign while walking on the sidewalk at -30 degrees Celsius (Canada). RIP my beloved EA-1000W. I just re-purchased from Amazon at an incredible price. I can't wait for it to arrive.

The AE1000 is an underrated little joy. For nearly 5 years it was my only usable watch, and ironically if I hadn't misplaced it in my own house I wouldn't have gotten into watches by needing a new one lol. Not as easily moddable as the 1200 though. sadly

I have hesitated between AE-1000 and AE-1100, but ended with AE-1000 because of one review of WatchGeek and the movie "Mine". All in all, the watch has an excellent package of functions and interesting face (reminds me a robot with one rectangular eye; one round eye and a big smile showing the time and the other things) for not a lot of money. The strap is indeed a bit hard and less supple, compared to other CASIOSs I have, but it is comfortable enough - at least for me. The lack of solar charging and multiband (MB) functionalities are not concerns. In my location MB does not work, and solar charging of the battery requires an additional care - regular exposure to light, tracking of power indicator of the battery (below some point - damages the battery - after all, it is a rechargeable battery similar to these ones of laptops, phones and so on stuff). As is mentioned often in the reviews - everyone should to have a G-Shock in their collection (DW-5600). In my opinion, everyone should to have АЕ Casio in addition, in order to complement (if it is required) the functionality of DW-5600 for not a lot of money.
A great watch, and a great references for it. I'm more of a F Series guy, but The AE series is just as God Tier when it comes too it's usefulness, and it's utilities, espically for those of us who travel often, and have family overseas. I've owned one for years now, and it's been a tank, and just flawless, espically with its World Time features, Alarms, Count and StopFinally had time to click on my youtube recommendations.
Hi, I have this watch which is great but I recently purchased the AE 1400 which is the same layout but the light button is on the front which is easier to actuat and the light is two leds same as Casio Royal.
I love the modules with two LEDs because you can mod them to be different colors. I did that with my first Royale and it makes me happy whenever I light it up.
Greg there are several models that fit this exact same formula, albiet with the display reconfigured. You already have the AE1200 & AE 1000. There is also the AE1100, AE2500, then with mineral crystal and 200m wr the AE2000 & AE2100.
Still waiting for Casio to make it in all steel. (It took them 35 years to finally come out with an all steel G-Shock Square. So I'm not holding my breath.)
@@MrPleers it's meant to be a cheap watch. They can make profit on G-Shocks not on this one. The demand isn't that much high on these except for a few collectors wanting one.
I just found my old AE1000 in a moving box we stored when we moved to our current house, 15 years ago. The thing still looks like new and IT IS STILL RUNNING HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE???????
Good video. I got a question. Is the AE1200 sturdy enough to take a bit of beating? Not like a G Shock of course (cos G's are built for abuse), but can the Royales take reasonable shaking? As in when running, playing table tennis (really quick repetitive hand movements for offensive shots), etc.

@@amoledzeppelin I don't see the point in 2000 as well. It's big, but the indicators are small and I don't see why is it better. 1300 by far wins on features
@@NJ-wb1cz Why it is better: flat mineral glass instead of acrylic, wr200 rating, true metal insert, screw-down protection bezel, main display occupies most of the useful area because there's no stupid world map there, also the module itself is held inside the case with four mini-bumpers, something we can usually only see in G-Shocks. The 1300 is something I wouldn't compare with others because it focuses on timers, not on world time features. But AFAIK it still has the same acrylic glass and WR100.
