Seems to me that it would be more convenient to pour the mixture into the canister while it’s outside of the machine first, and then lower the whole thing into the machine well. This would eliminate all the splashes on the machine (or down the side of the canister and into the well). Considering this one, or the Breville Smart Scoop. Still researching the compressors-which one is more robust?
I bought that same model brand new from Amazon about a week ago. However, upon close inspection, I noticed a piece of insulated wire had been pinched and sticking through the opening in the well. In addition to the motor spindle not being perpendicular to the bottom of the well, because of the pinched wire, it was also not sealed. So I sent it back and received my brand new replacement a couple of days ago. But I let it sit for about a day and a half to make sure the compressor oil had fully settled. I made up my gelato base and let it cool, and then turned on the machine, set the timer and pushed the start button just to make sure it worked. It did not work! I could hear the compressor doing something, but the paddle inside the bucket did not spin. I tried about six times with the same results. Very disappointed in Cuisinart for these two defective units. So I boxed up the second unit and it will be returned tomorrow. I ordered the Whynter ICM-201SB and it will be delivered tomorrow. Not giving up, just on Cuisinart (which is normally excellent).
I bought mine this weekend ( this ice cream maker was £245 ) but I wanted the best on the market 👍🏻 I’m soooooo excited to start making my icecream tomorrow, all my appliances are cuisine art the after service with this company are first class 👍🏻I’ve have & had so many mixers / grinders / rice maker for YEARS LOVE LOVE LOVE CUISINE ART ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ A company of Excellence .wish the booklet had more ice cream receipts in though , just saying 😃

Is the time for making icecream and gelato the same?
Can it be assumed that the ice cream paddle can be used to try frozen yogurt, or the gelato paddle for sorbet maybe?

Since my recipes are based around my old 2-quart Cuisinart ice cream maker, I wish Cuisinart made a 2-quart version of this machine.
