I've not tried it myself. VMWare will pull Windows and Linux for you so you don't have to get or make your own .iso. I don't think that I've tried installing macOS on VMWare before. Maybe UTM. You could always give it a try to find out. I'd have to download the .pkg and convert it to an iso and I'd probably want to do that on my Studio.
There's a long list of bugs at MacRumors. I am running Sequoia on three Macs and my workflow is smooth with it but people I always recommend testing your workflow before upgrading.
I learned this a a decade and a half ago, never put yout laptop to sleep. There is inconsistencies in sensors and software. For the same reason, I disable all options for sleep and/or closing the lid, so I consciously shut it down.
The same happened to me. now, I'm trying to update to 15.0.1 let's see if this fixes it.

Mac OS Sequoia is so buggy, and they changed how Macs fan control works!!!
