hey 🙂 think the result of the transmission line is very nice, would now like to build the same thing, but with the ws 17 e - 4 ohm, does that also work with the 4 ohm chassis? Can you please send me the blueprint of the case? so the transmission line? would be very very kind of you, thanks for your time. Kind regards
Speaker impedance doesn't matter 4 or 8 ohms. body is better to count. the cross-sectional area of the voit pipe should be 2 to 3 times the cone area of the speaker being used. the length of the pipe is a quarter of the wavelength to which the van needs to tune the hull. e.g. 35 hertz. look for a wavelength of 35 hertz and divide by 4
It depends on why you think you need two drivers. You probably don;t, what you need is the right alignment to whatever speakers you're using. ua-cam.com/video/hIwZjJanXag/v-deo.html I would also use little to no acoustic foam. Yes you can shorten the line to a certain degree, but in my experience is really does kill the sound. Again see the video link ... no acoustic foam and it seems to be working ok
I'm assuming 1 is the transmission line, and 2 is sealed? The #1 has better uper mids, #2 has more pronounced mid bass. I think the AB really needs to come from identical driver's in the two different types of cabs.

Omg people are so dumb. So if he shows a cat during the test would you think the sound is coming from the cat? We’re viewing the open designs but listening to a closed speaker system.
I don't undersrand what is happening, what is 1 and what is 2? Why label it 1 & 2, why not label it what it is?. Also, in both I'm hearing the boxyness of the room.
Just bad damping for TL speaker, there should be no foam or anything in the last 50 cm of transline !!! And you MUST make corners rounded so that air can flow without reverberations....
I am sorry but you built them wrong. your woofers should have been at the narrowest part of the horn. This is how I have built mine and with 6.5's I have had to turn off my subs and reconsider how I will mix my bass. Also I have found a house wrap called Blueskin (basically a 1/4 in, self adhesive rubber sheet) is superior to foam of that kind. It allows greater movement of air, while still deadening the box tones out. The spl's from the port went up, while still offering great, controlled tones from the port. Then only small pieces of insulation might need to be placed to finish the tune of the speakers. Shoot me an email if you want pics and audio/video.
@@joeygonzo Hi Joe I don't give up my email. I also don't know how to send you pics. However the basic premise of the box is the woofer goes at the very top of the box and then there's a board inside of the box that angles to create a folded horn inside almost like a megaphone. The taper starts so that's nearly touching the magnet of the woofer which is at the top of the box it grows to about 1/3 by the time you get to the bottom leaving space for air to travel past and then tapers the rest of the way up naturally. The back part which tapers back to the top is left open. I hope that description was not too confusing. Think of a saxophone with a reed at one end.
I would say the combination of them would be good, both have noticable sounding issues alone.
great design. thank you for the cutout view

What would I need to do differently if I were to use 2 bassdrivers instead of one? just treat it as one big driver and use that as cross-section?
counts two diffuser areas

I knew it : ) clou might have more bass but sounds boxier!?
I personally prefer the transmission line
Wait which one is #1 again?

I agree. I will do with the same components
have a go on these - ua-cam.com/video/hIwZjJanXag/v-deo.html
I’m confused..

if you love the blues play em as you please..Michael Bloomfield
Не думал что tqwp понравится больше и по басу и по верхам, tw70 самый дешевый высокочастотник, там разница почти в 2 раза с sc10
transmission line should be closed to work properly. or not?
Are you talking about the back wall? Of course, it is closed during recording.

The tunnel is 2m long and the loudspeaker is mounted halfway along the length. No sense at all.
the loudspeaker is set to 1/3 of the length of the tunnel.

soffitto-omsk@yandex.ru I'll gladly have a look
can i get a copy of the plan? what's your e-mail addy ? thanks

he built a transmission line not a horn though
Так где какой в итоге?
Love the idea, but a completely pointless test. Please re-do with both cabs fully sealed and finished....
Finished? for what? just to listen and check? It makes no sense. Hermetically? Of course the side wall was installed during the test.
He’s showing open speakers because they’re interesting. We’re not listening to open sided speakers lol. They’d sound WAY worse.

Are you mute?
Thats a wrong design
