    oh so disappointed. this is not fixing a broken nail, this is applying a fake nail. I was looking forward to a tip on fixing a natural nail that had broken. One I've seen on another channel is to use nail glue and thin medical tape or something -but I can't find that channel or video again to find the missing piece of the puzzle.

    • @SmallsTrini
      @SmallsTrini 9 років тому +12

      It's not medical tape but you could also use a tea bag to cover a cracked nail and it'll attach back

      Search fiberglass/silk wrap nails. I think that's what you meant by "medical tape." There's a bunch of videos on how to fix broken nails with it, as well as to make nails longer. I've used fiberglass wraps with gel polish to change my nail shape, and to make them longer when my nails are short.

      Kouri ***** Way to make a couple of pointless comments on what you perceive as a pointless video. Many people may have never used a fake nail, or have had the proper instructions to do it (especially with removal). She even gives tips on how to make it look more natural through brand and application since it's true how many can appear over the top when a novice applies them. Judging from 99% of the top comments, most people find it useful information so perhaps experts like yourselves could support them and answer questions instead of detracting. Thanks.

      You sound upset, don't be upset. It's just a pointless comment on a pointless video, also the top comments have not said that this super useful at all, in fact, some say that it's pretty obvious, others are completely off-topic. Try not to pull statistics out of your ass if you want to lecture me. Apparently being able to apply a false nail correctly makes one an expert, oh wow, even if I was, I have no obligation to support or answer any questions. Thanks for your much needed comment.

      ***** Hi sandy or cutepolish. I love your videos. And I also really wanted to do the nail art that you do in your videos. But the thing that stinks is that I can never have the right tools to do the nail designs. so was hoping you could show us viewers a nail design that will last a while and that you can find all the tools in your home. Just simple ones like toothpicks, cotton balls and swabs, nail polish obviously, nd much much more. So I hope you do this video also because I was thinking of having my mom do my nails soon. Nope! Just using a drop of nail glue on the bed is fine. Remember to dip in acetone to remove the nail. Then you can lightly buff the surface if there's any glue leftover. Then use a cuticle oil or cream and you're all set :)

      Also, you can try having a "nail mask" once or twice a week. Get a scented paraffin or bee wax candle in a crystal glass, light it and when enough wax is melted, dip your nails in it; let it to dry and keep this mask on for about 15 minutes, then remove it. It really worked for me. ^^

      ***** So much truth here! I have naturally thin, breakable nails, so I'll never have long, pretty nails like Sandi. But I have found that the more I paint them, the better they grow. Not sure why, but my nails are the longest they've ever been and all I've been doing is keeping them painted. Maybe the polish protects them from moisture, or whatever?

All the nail channel youtubers have perfect, thick, curved nail beds that seem to effortlessly get long. For a long time I thought my nail beds just sucked too much to have nice nails but now I know with a little work they can look awesome :D.

      DigitAngel Exactly! Plus nail glue penetrates the top layers of your nail plate so you're causing more damage to your nail, not to mention the harm you can do to the softer new nail growth at the base of your nail plate! Acetone is the very worst thing to use on a damaged nail too 😡 Best to leave it to grow naturally and put up with a shorter nail for a week or two 😊

      It's the closest you're going to get to a "fix" once the nail has completely broken off. I use the teabag trick to help fix partially broken nails, but once it's gone the only options are to leave them uneven, cut the rest to match, or apply something artificial.
