"The Amphitheater of the Railroad World", there's no such thing as a bad time up here. It's been 3 years too long since I've last stood up there, I've gotta change that one of these days. You definitely picked a good time that day, it's always nice when you can arrive there at the same time as the westbound van fleet. That was an absolutely massive 23Z. I was shocked when the headend was a minute+ past the camera when the Scotch Run detector finally went off. Awesome stuff.
+AliceInChains243 Well, an encounter with the NS cops can put a damper on things in a hurry. This past fall a buddy and I had one claim that their property line was 105 yards (yes, YARDS) in either direction. I guess they better get busy on ticketing all the park visitors, then.
Haven't been up the backside of the Curve since October of the year this clip was shot, but as for the Pittsburgh Line in general I get up there whenever I can.
Does anyone else think that the Curve would look better if the fourth track was reinstalled? I know that there's only one track in the New Portage Tunnel, so there will probably never be a need for what was once the eastbound passenger track/#2 Track.
+Mikey300 Well, duh it would. ;) I've read a story or two that if the state started running more sponsored Amtrak service like they want the fourth track might go back in, but it's just speculation for now. In the meantime, three tracks still put on a great show.
+generationll Most are headed to and from Chicago, so perhaps they're just not passing at the right time of day. I'd swear I've seen a few trailer trains on the Chesterton cam over at Railstream.

Pleased to see you spent some time in my neck of the woods.

Nice video from the Horseshoe Curve. Well done
Regards Adam
Another great video. I definitely need to make a trip there. It is a ran fan paradise. How often do trains pass at Horseshoe Curve?
+agentM1991 Often enough. ;) The later part of the week is usually busier.
Like between Wednesday and Saturday?
Great train video ...

Excellent in HD!
How do you get to that side of the tracks?
+Matthew Smith Ok thanks! It didn't help that I went in early spring.
+Matthew Smith Ok thanks!
Parabéns 👏
Great job!
thats the longest 12g I've ever seen never been that long in delaware
+Jeffrey Yatkowski I'm not sure where 12G does setouts and pickups, but it probably does a few before it reaches where you've seen it.
How do u get to that spot on horseshoe curve is it easy access
+Jeffrey Yatkowski Not really. It's a pretty steep climb up from road level.
Oh i thought there was a dirt access road there for ns to access ur spot off the main road.
We never see these piggybacks here in W Indiana
