Sounds ridiculous, but if you try doing a strength training day with weights for pull ups, for idk 3 sets of 4 to 5 and then do a muscle building day for higher amount of reps 8 above, it's technically a cheat code to being able to do more reps are currently weight, you'll feel like a feather.
@@RedGamingChairI bet you don't stretch. Flexibility is just as important as strength, as it helps you have proper length tension relationships in your muscles. Try doing 30 second sets of a couple different leg and back stretches (especially glutes if that's a problem area) a couple times a week and see massive improvement
I went from doing 1 leg day a week and hating it to doing 2 leg day a week with proper volume and absolutely loving leg days. Kneeovertoe guy and squat university made my love leg days.

Including legs at the beginning of strength-intensive workouts after the warm-up (with isometrics, for example) is beneficial (for muscle growth and testosterone production), or so I’ve read.

I had a dude tell me to stay away from leg work outs completely because it puts fluid in your knees when you’re older. He said they’re bad to do. I still work out legs. Speaking of that I been slacking in the gym lately. Haven’t been getting enough sleep at night. I definitely need to step my game up.
strong legs are needed for carrying heavy objects, running and jumping without injury, reduce fatigue while running, they are literally the only thing that separates you from the ground, there's no real reason to don't train them, also even women usually find thick butts atractive in men, also lower body training usually helps with sexual performance
Having strong legs and a strong butt has its many advantages. For one, speaking from experience, the police or anyone else trying to pin you down on the grown will have a hard time.

The new trend online is that if you don't have 30+ inch legs, you must "skip leg day." It makes sense for bodybuilders to want that level of hypertrophy. But training legs 2-3x per week consistently has my legs at 27 inches which I'm happy with. I don't want to add a ton of extra mass because I enjoy still being able to sprint, jump, and be mobile.
I'm getting back into fitness and doing it also and steady this time. I started where I was weakest, my core for back issues (McGill Big 3 are a life changer!). Next logical step for me immediately after that was squats. I just... You should focus on being over all health. That's what I'm doing anyways. That's really my only goal.
I dont train for aesthetics, I train for performance and for that strong and capable legs, gutes, hips etc. are super important. You generate so much power through your lower body. I.e. I loaded ~360 boxes (medium weight) into a truck yesterday. Nothing special. Lots of walking, lots of carrys, a lot of hip hinge movement. A strong lower body will help you with that.
I have the opposite problem, I'm always training legs so I still can't do more than 5 body weight pullups. I still work on them, just hitting a plateau
Leg day is my favorite day but unfortunately, I've fractured my left femur during a basketball game. I am walking again after 1 month out of surgery, and I managed to gain my upper body size back. All I need to do is regain the size on my legs, not being able to do barbell pause squats was very sad for me haha.
I skip legday because I’m a guy with an absolute fatty, it’s so bad that I sometimes have trouble buying pants. It has gotten so bad that some people I don’t t even know only know me as the guy with a fat ass. (No it’s not bc I’m fat, I’m at a 13% bfp)
It’s about specificity if you are in to statics training legs is stupid if you want to maximise performance. Just like cyclist have skinny arms and big legs or marathon runners have very little muscle it all come down to your goals (I do statics and train my legs tho cause a care also for aesthetics)
Well every body is different doing legs really helped me unlock my back and chest gains, and overall core stsbility goes off the charts. Stuff you cant really accomplish without hitting legs
Im not à fan of training leg to the gym because I find leg exercices boring. However, there is other ways to train leg: biking, hiking, running... If your goal is to be able to use your body, including functional exercices like that do the trick :) plus it work cardio
Leg workout is so important beside having overall symmetry. Especially as you get older like me in my 60s , it’s so crucial as a therapist to build up strength and balance. What’s the point of having big chest and arms but having a pair of chicken legs. When people look at your physique, they look at your whole body not just the upper body .

Common guys, legs and waist distribute all the power to the top. Pure hanging, pulling etc. is minor in real life. Also it gives hormone boost, athletic abilities, prevention to injury, health, not just strenght and mass down there.

Coming from a climbers perspective here, and that's an area where skipping legs is really prominent. Actually, I've had a buddy tell me I should quit cycling if I want to get good at climbing, mostly because leg mass is seen as detrimental on harder grades.
I'm a guy (born as a guy) and I like doing arms alot, but I like doing legs atleast as much, maybe even more. Also I look forward to leg days and don't dread them like most people so:D I just started working out again after an almost 2 month brake, so I haven't tried max yet, but before that 2 months my max on bench was 3x40kg (88lbs), but my max deadlift was 110kg, so 2.75x my bench😂
Honestly, pull days are what I usually skip. There's something about curls, pullups, shrugs, and those sort of things that I find really boring and unsatisfying to do. Leg day is great because you feel amazing afterwards, chest/push day is also great because you look big afterwards, but pull days are just... Boring.
Proper strength training of the legs actually does have a benefit to the upper body. The human body operates as a system. I have personally experienced this and numerous studies have proven it to be true.

Honestly, I am not a huge fan of doing leg day (at least I'm not a fan on leg day), but in terms of everyday functionality, having capable legs (strong and flexible) is going to be more beneficial than being able to do 25 muscle ups and handstand pushups or whatever. They say you're only as young as your back feels. Well, let me tell you that if your knees and ankles are no good, then your back will be no good also.
It's clear neither of you have seen Johnny Bravo, as if you rewatch his transformation clip, the point of the way he's standing in the full band is to show that he is training a barbell overhead squat variation, the animators at the time did NOT know how to make thick legs look fluid with movement, so they left him in a pair of jeans. Sadly using animation limited at the time is not a cue, you have to use the animation they used for his transformation, which shows him performing legs as well. The greatest example of Johnny Bravo is that his upper body is over drawn, in all reality, a more life-like Johnny Bravo would look like Van Damme, tiny looking legs but we know there's muscle, anyone's who's seen Double Impact will tell you: Van Damme was a muscular beast.
the reason i sometimes skip leg day is because although doing squats and leg presses develops my quads, it exponentially develops my glutes and i don't want to have a big ass even if i have all the muscles in the world
I am one of them who enjoy every leg sesion and just feel burn in legs but still doing reps it feels good 😅 and also training failures on leg extension.

I'll be 100% honest: I'd rather have a hard time nailing some strength skills BUT having huge well-trained legs, than having skinny legs all day. Leg day has also become psychologically rewarding for me at this point so, big NOPE to skipping leg day.

One can train legs without them becoming beefy too, for example bodyweight or cardiovascular things like running, jumping rope, etc @@jakemccoy

I want a right to call at people "don't be fat" alongside "don't skip leg day". Both of those issues makes discomfort and both of those are fixable by proper eating and exercises.
