    Agreed it was pretty ridiculous of main stream media to bully a young 20-something founder for their political views. These adults play dirty as shit, and have no moral compass to even apologize. I hope Luckey succeeds beyond anyone's imagination and provides a fair battleground for future entrepreneurs with divergent views.

      Truth be told, it's doubtful Palmer could even exist on other sides.
      He's too outspoken and innovative to fit in almost any other larger system.
      China would make him disappear, Russia would be too dysfunctional for him, Turkey would be too ideologically opposed, Germany would be too anti-war to even allow anything, and France would be inward looking and slow. As a Canadian, I can't see Palmer existing anywhere else than California, where his Hawaiian shirt belongs XD
      I'm hoping he releases some his forest fighting drones soon, 'cuz we're cooking right now.

      @@themore-you-know Texas, Florida, just in US, Panama, and many Caribbean countries allow an inordinate amount of freedom of development for all sorts of businesses notwithstanding Defense Tech, funny enough Anduril does operate in these places.

    Despite what bloomberg have done to palmer in the past.. I'm really really grateful that you guys did this interview. This is an insane look into this genius mind. And I really appreciate it.     Palmer has the same strategic long view of the future, and critically, of the past history as China does. Together with his creative brilliant ideas, he is a great asset to his country. He is, 😮however, not well understood by many in his country which means he is unpredictable. This very unpredictability is what protects him and his company but he’s also at great personal risk so he’s going to need protection, preferably by his own developed technology!

      He's been speaking about it since he began Anduril. He said cost plus model that DoD uses with other defense companies incentivizes overbudget projects.

    I think the reason modern US tech companies are hesitant to work with the military are twofold: (1) we trust the military/leadership decision making process much less than we used to (having gone through Vietnam, Iraq, etc; and (2) most of the talent is comprised of immigrants who are not US citizens and may need to return to their home country if their visas expire (not to mention their family members still in China/Pakistan/Iran, etc)

      @@manonamission2000 SpaceX per ITAR (due to restrictions on rocket technology) do not hire foreign nationals and also they are seen as a launch provider not mainly a military company, though they do transport some military payloads occasionally.

      You can't really get the security clearances you need to work at defense contractors unless you are a US citizen. My partner has a clearance.

    It's incorrect and distortive to say that the managers of large companies made the wrong decision moving manufacturing and assembly to China. Executives would have failed in their fiduciary duties had they not taken advantage of low labor costs in China. I like Luckey but he is talking up his own book on this.
