What a great way to spend your B-day. Can't get any better than being with your fur babie that gives you unconditional love all the time and to top it off doing a blog on The 68 Comeback Special. The 68 Comeback Special will still stand up against any music out today. It and Aloha from Hawaii are two of my favorites by Elvis. Luv your leather Elvis wristbands, and your fur baby is so cute. Great video with a great story. My mother when she was 15 went to the back of the studio that day and was lucky enough to be brought inside for the show. She is actually up in the front with her friend.

How lucky we are that you decided to start vlogging 3 years ago.......I remember watching this Elvis special when it first aired, yes 50 years ago...I was 18....do the math...lol, we were all glued to the TV set...it was so exciting seeing Elvis perform and I think everyone fell in love with Elvis all over again. Great vlog, thank you Jordan.
Never been Elvis fan but after watching 1968 comback show, I realized that he was ahead of time. Even 2022 standard it was outstanding production. NBC did pretty good job.
This was a great show. I remember when it was on tv. My Mom loved her some Elvis ! I was 11 !

My old stomping grounds, the Burbank/Toluca Lake area. Grew up directly across the street from NBC Studios in Burbank. I was in kindergarten at the time, did not know what all the fuss was about that day . One of my friends was Jeff Burton (RIP), son of Elvis' guitarist James Burton. Never knew this until we were adults. Great memories. To be young again...BTW great channel.

For me, even though I wasn't old enough to remember the show live, I felt like it was really the birth of the 'unplugged" formula. I know it wasn't unplugged insofar as electricity, but the vibe of being in the round, the artist talking about the origination of a song, up close and personal with the audience, and most importantly, you knew that it was unforgettable even timeless.

Happy Birthday man, and thanks for telling that story. It needs to be told so that the younger generations know the Elvis history and his impact. Also one thing you may or may not have know was that when MTV started doing the unplugged shows back in the late 80's or early 90's the 68 comeback was a big part of the inspiration for how they set up the shows, so technically as Pricilla Presley said Elvis was the first artist to do an unplugged tv special. Even though he did have the backing band for the other parts.

I hope you had a great birthday yesterday brother i know my dad did! Its funny how yall act alike. Must be a Leo thing. This is an awesome Elvis Vlog. I think the 68 special was a great time for Elvis. He was still young and his health was still good. One thing is for sure, he never gave up regardless. One of my favorite Elvis quotes is "The lord can give, and the Lord can take away. I might be herding sheep next year".

I was 10 years old and 1 day when Elvis died. I can still remember everything about that day and exactly where I was and what I was doing when the news broke about his death. I have always been a Elvis fan and probably always will be. He such an amazing human being. Its a shame we lost him much to soon. I've often wondered what it would've been like had he been able to over come all those demons he dealt with. Also had those that were always with him could've helped him make the changes and get the help he needed. Ive always heard because he was "Elvis" you couldn't tell him what to do. I have even wondered if those around him had of just said you either get help and change or we are outta here, would that had helped him change. Unfortunately, Elvis was a meal ticket to many of those that stayed around him. Thanks for the video, I always enjoy anything about the King of Rock n Roll.

Elvis Presley was someone special. I so wish that his life had been better than it was and his support people had treated him better instead of as a meal ticket. The things that he was never able to realize because of the Colonel Parkers and Memphis Mafias controlling his life are sad.

I remember the 68 comeback special vividly. Everybody watched. We had a black and white TV and my whole family watched. A couple of weeks later Apollo 8 launched to the moon and we saw the famous Earthrise photo. The crew read from Genesis while circling the moon. And Christmas day, I finally received my most prized possession- a green schwinn stingray bicycle which I still have. Watching the 68 comeback special I had no idea that one day I would play bass in DJ Fontana's band and later on meet Scotty Moore. I was 7 years old. What a ride it's been.
You still have the Schwinn!!! Loved those Sting Rays! (5 years later I got a yellow 10-speed Schwinn Varsity! Remember those?!!) Some of those Rays are worth some serious money today. Where has the time gone??

Happy Birthday!!! Elvis to me, is the all time best singer. I can go for months and not hear him and then his music comes on the radio and I remember why he is the greatest. I love this special. And it sounds like Tom Parker was a spoiled ass! Like he didn't get his way for it being a "Christmas Special", and no Christmas song, so he takes the tickets and the money. He gives all the tickets to the guys out front, thinking the seats won't get filled and it sounds like he just pocketed the money. Makes me wonder how much of Elvis's money Tom Parker also pocketed over the years!

The "If I Could Dream" song was phenomenal at the end of the special. Great stories and research of all those involved in the special. You always share so much info. that brings the stories to life. It was all repeated (often incorrectly) from the ''Gates of Graceland 68 Comeback Special.'' with multiple inaccuracies. It was a rubbish ''show'' with loads of crap about his dog and his birthday.. I wasted 29 minutes of my life.
