She’s a grandma now. At an age far beyond that in the wild (according to him they live 18-20 years). She wouldn’t be able to feed herself in the wild given these mobility issues. So her living beyond her wild lifespan because she is cared for is really a thing of joy - every additional year is a blessing. 😭
I know how she feels being old and getting slower. May the rest her days be filled with love and happiness. You’re an awesome guy for taking care of her the way you do.

Is she able to take OTC pain meds or even prescription meds for her arthritis pain? Primates dont show pain outwardly due to survival instincts, so you kind of have to assume if she looks arthritic she's probably in a great deal of pain.
When Cindy is sitting, she looks like a very stable baboon. But when she "walks", you see all the burden and the fragility of her high age. It´s so sweet, how she takes this great effort to come to your bed and say good morning.
Knowing she is MUCH older than most wild baboons live, she seems to still be happy and enjoying life despite not being able to see anymore. And she has a very loving home, I’m glad.

I've only ever seen her sitting doing stuff , realising how old she is makes it pretty amazing to see how well you have kept her health . She slowed down for you as a child to learn to walk ,now it's your turn to slow down for Cindy ❤
