Thank you for your wonderful comment. I improved a lot in the last years, but mostly becasue of the nerd component in my personality. I like trying things out, testing them, learning.... And some time ago I also thought I will be never able to quilt such projects. Time, pataince, love....try it. Just for the love of doing it. It is like me with jogging. I am so bad at it but I do it because it is good for me. It is very freeing... try it ❤️❤️❤️
"And here the trouble started...." I just LOVE your videos!! You are so real!! So many times I've looked at my quilting and thought "now what the crap did I do that for?" Yes, always power through..Thank you!!
Few years ago I used to have a vision for each of my quilts. And every single time I changed my mind and did something different only to say....hm ups(?) I was never sure about the result and every single time someone pointed out to this element and said : this is great. I make mistakes, I try to learn from them, move on, only to discover some new ones. In this way I know I learn. In this case, taking the stiches out was out of question. I traveled a lot there. And most importantly, FMQ is all about craft, about using our hands and hearts to quilt... and passion. Sending hugs
Sometimes, we do not achieve what we wanted but what we needed...I did not expect that this video will provide so much input from my audience. It is wonderful ❤️❤️❤️
@@quiltingnerd Hi there ,, Quilting is going good. I still make mistakes, but it looks so much better lately. Still have much to learn and practice, but lucky. all your videos is a very good teacher. so.. thank you so much for all you do. it is much appreciated .have a lovely day. 🥰💕
This morning started badly, waking at 4am and not getting back to sleep so I settled in and watched your video. Oh my, did I feel your frustration with the arches!! And then when you said to follow your 1st quilting guru, I just laughed out loud as I knew what was coming next. Angela was my 1st guru too and people who don’t FMQ just don’t understand the concept, but it works. I so love your videos, they’re the highlight of my week as I just love your attitude and I find that’s inspirational. Thank you again for making my day, even though it’s still only 5.42am. Happy Christmas x
Dear Vicki, Thank you for this incredible feedback. As an early riser I understand you more than you know. At 5:42 I am usually done with my shower and my coffe and try to find the energy for the day....❤️. I am a quilter among other roles. I love quilting and I know that I am pretty good at it. But I am also a tired human that makes mistakes and needs to find a way to use them. I must say that quilting thought me the acceptance of my mistakes. I was a terrible perfectionists, scared of doing something new. First I relaxed around quilting then implemented my quilting philosophy in real life. I know that I am lucky and my audience will understand when something goes not according to the plan. It may be helpful for others to know, that quilting is not about cold perfection. It is about love and a finished project. I must think about the meaning of excellence, perfection, art, and depth in crafts.... what really moves and motivates us the most. Sending hugs and wishing you many nights of good sleep ...Gosia❤️❤️❤️
So beautiful, thank you for sharing, love watching you,.... can I ask , what weight and brand wadding do you use.also which ruler is that you use for the arch..sorry to ask so many questions, im new to quilting and on the learning journey..
Hi there! I will try to answer as good as I can. I am not sure about my batting, as I bought if from the roll in my quilting shop. It is relatively thick and stiff cotton batting. It is perfect for the table topper as it is quite stable. The thermal batting has similar feel to it. Most of the time I am using Hobbs 80/20 brand or soya bamboo mix. It all depends on the project and the size. My rulers are a mixture, mostly Handi quilter (the oval and round ones) but my straight line ruler is custom made by a local craftsman. Again Handi Quilter has some good ones too. And please feel free to comment and ask questions ❤️❤️❤️
@quiltingnerd thank you so much for responding to my questions, I am truly grateful and appreciate you taking the time to answer them for, I guess part of the learning curve is making mistakes, which I have done many times 🙄😁 equally I would rather not make too many has it is quite costly x
@@user-tt7cl3ev9f There are ways to reduce the costs. For example you can use a solvable thread in your bobbin. You quilt, wet your sandwich and you can pull off your stiches. However, if you will wait with quilting til you are very good at it then you will miss the opportunity to develop your style. Taki it slow, learn on projects with low impack: pot holders, bags, baby blanckets...Before you know it you will be there
Lately, there are many insightful moments in my videos 😂. I think I am tired, but the best lessons are when things go a bit wrong. We gain more understanding and we learn how to deal with it. I admit that sometimes I take out my stiches but never on a project where I had so many overlaing stiches....ugh... I would damage the top. It is good for our creativity ❤️❤️❤️
I think you have surpassed a "a nerd", you have incredible advanced talent that creates masterpieces. I can't do it but I love watching.

I love the big daisies.
They always look good and are fast to quilt. They have some gravitas ❤️❤️❤️

❤the reality is we don’t achieve what we wanted the first time we attempt something new but often end up with something quite pleasantly pleasing ❤
Sometimes, we do not achieve what we wanted but what we needed...I did not expect that this video will provide so much input from my audience. It is wonderful ❤️❤️❤️
