      It depends on your client or ITP request. generally what is done before the hydro test is the final inspection, the final inspection including checking the final dimensions of the vessel, pneumatic test on pads, etc. Measurement of vessel dimensions before the hydro test is mandatory

    Is this vessel supposed to be hydro tested at same position it will be in service?

      Hydrostatic position can be done according to actual conditions in the field or in the workshop.
      If the service position is in a vertical condition and the hydrotest is carried out in the workshop, of course it will depend on the available space.
      Calculated, will be verified for hydrotest pressure using a vertical or horizontal position, which will involve gravity.
      Therefore, if the vessel uses an ASME stamp, the FORM U must be informed that the hydrostatic test is carried out in a vertical or horizontal position.
