His control of voice while rendering the subtleties of the classical notations was matchless.!.. The heart touching poetry of Ahmed Faraz saab, sung soulfully, in his deep rich baritone voice, touched me not only because of the words, but also due to the gravity of his voice... No one can scale these heights of beauty, sung so meticulously.!... The soul stirring lyrics of this ghazal have been immortalized by Khan sahib's unsurpassable singing... Jo jehar pee chuka huuN, tum hi ne mujhe diya..Ab tum to zindagi ki, duaayen mujhe na do..Mai.n kab ka jaa chuka hu.n sadaayen mujhe na do... Another fresh gift from Sumanjis melodious coffer. Though this is almost the signature ghazal of Mehdi hassan Sahib, but this particular concert version infusing a new life to the poem is probably new to us. It feels like as if Khan Sahib's orotund voice is breaking through the sky and drenching each word of the ghazal with profound feeling of separation. The muffled pain of a maudlin(sorry for not being able to render the word Abhimani in English)soul who has been estranged by his lover is unfolding its petals through raag Kirwani. Sumanji cannot thank you enough.....God bless you.
I am not sure but so far as my observation, this audio is sounds like edited. This is not the regular singing scale if Mehdi sir. This is 2 to 3 notes up from the regular singing notes of Mehdi sir
I also noted this as soon as I heard it and think this is few notes above MH’s regular scale as he had a voice with lots of base and MH usually sang with low scale. Anyway, this is a one of my fav ghazal which I can not get enough of. Thanks for the upload🙏🏼
