- It's been more than two years now since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men have been called up to serve in the military. Many have not returned. We spoke to one mother who is coming to terms with her own loss. Ukraine is trying to mobilize more of its population for military service, including those living abroad. How is the country's recruitment drive going so far?

A Ukrainian soldier said that some KIAs are reported as "Missing" so their unit commander keeps receiving their salary. The soldiers family waits for their "missing" son to be found but in reality he's long gone and his wife and children don't receive any benefits because of corrupt unit commanders. However this is not the case throughout the AFU, many units respect their fallen soldiers but there are still some bad apples.

We know it for a fact, that Russia has only paid out benefits to less than 50,000 people. Which means that the vast majority of Russians fighting have never seen any kind of compensation. Meanwhile, Ukraine has stamped out most of the corruption in its military.
actually if a solider is reporting "missing" such as being buried after being hit by a FAB-1500 glide bomb then there is no body. If there is no body than the wife/kids don't get any pension as he is technically not dead... This is how kiev can massage the statistics with only 32k dead bodies.

I believe that she is confused on the numbers as currently Russia has an artillery advantage of 7-1 down from 10-1 early war estimates. She stated that Russian troops outnumber Ukrainian troops 10-1. Russia does not have a 10-1 advantage in numbers deployed in Ukraine. Ukraine has roughly between 800K to 1 Million troops depending on who you ask. Russia very certainly does not have 9 - 10 Million troops in Ukraine. If anything Ukraine outnumbers Russia as most sources estimate the total Russian forces at 1.1 to 1.4 million even on Ukrainian estimates. It is highly unlikely that all of these troops are deployed in Ukraine as Russia has vast border and coastal regions that Russia has to deploy it’s troops on. (Not just in Ukraine.) Not choosing any sides, just pointing out that even according to Ukraines numbers they are not outnumbered 10-1 and it is very misleading to say so.
my brother most news channels says the same thing that the ukrain army it is out numbered by the russian army(1:10).
I think she’s referring to specific sectors of the front where there is greater mismatch. I think she phrased it badly, but there people on the ground on the avdiivka axis saying there’s big mismatch
you are correct there is around 600K russian soldiers in the conflict
She is special correspondent!!!! lol lol her numbers are wrong
Think , it doesn’t hurts! Even if Ukranians are a million, they have to be all over the front line and the border with Belarus and in reserves. So the Russian can concentrate at their will where to attack and with how many soldiers and if you have more than a functional neuron you will come to the conclusion that 10-1 ratio makes perfect sense on the point of contact.

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.

Russia's national security was compromised once nato began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining nato was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.

Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list.
There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence).
The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present.
Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.

It is a clear lesson to all nations - never agree to a role of "democracy shield" or a "cheap way to weaken someone" or things like that. Don't aim at joining military alliances against your neighbours and always maintain good relationship with them.
Unless your neighbour is Russia, then you should join an alliance asap.
Very true. Look at what happened in Central America. The countries involved in proxy wars were ruined. The only smart one was Costa Rica who said no to them.
@@harshbutfair8993 with such way of thinking thousands die. It is vice-versa. Russia has quite of history where it was invaded by France, then Germany. All them were bloody lessons learnt. Therefore Russia will not tolerate another try. Poor ordinary people led by bloody bastards :-(

All Ukraine is doing is defending itself.

kinda hard to end a war when the opposing side is trying to take over the government 😂

Ukraine won’t be able to win this war unless Europe and west help to send in their own troops.
In -22, I was told that Kiev would win this war for several reasons, one of them being that Ukrainians had this intense patriotism. whereas the Russians were drunkards forced to fight. What happened?
What's happening is that Ukraine is still winning, at least according to western mainstream medias and Zelensky and his cousins in the cabinet.

Let’s be real. Ukraine is one the most Corrupt and Totalitarian government in the world, maybe next to Russia and North Korea. It’s really meant to destroy the Russian economy and reduce their capabilities to exert political influence on other countries.
Support Ukraine, please do. Let’s just not pretend it’s for Democracy or Freedom. It’s never been. It’s really for the US and Western Europe’s financial and military benefits.

They never do….
russia has had the best possible conditions for the last 6 months: Ukraine was running low on ammo and soldiers, US aid was stuck in congress. Russia had already maxed out military production, while the EU is struggling to catch up.
So what has russia accomplished in those 6 months? They captured Avdiivka, and moved the frontline a few km in other areas. That's all...
But now Ukraine is mobilizing more soldiers and they are digging in. US aid is unstuck. The first shells from the Czeck initiative should arrive soon. EU shell production is slowly ramping up, expected to reach a capacity of 1,4M by the end of the year and 2M in 2025. Russia's frozen money will most likely soon be confiscated, and used to fund Ukraine.
Things are really not looking good for russia in the long term. The reserves of old soviet weapons will not last forever, and putin's war chest will run dry eventually. It's only a matter of time...
delusional. Ukraine's already lost, but Russia has been isolated from Europe and the CIA blew up their pipeline. From the insane, warmongering US perspective its a success, that's how proxy wars work.
That how you fool yourself and misunderstood Russia you think they are waiting for Ukraine to act, Russia dug in since last year those 50b won't do any changes on the battlefield just like 300bn were sent in the last two years, fab300 will wipe all those fortification Ukraine is building just line thy did in adivka, and one more things many villages Russia took after adivka just watch independent news not CNN etc
Украдены. Не конфискованы. В зад вашу показную толерантность, называйте вещи своими именами.
And what did Ukraine achieve as a result of the famous counter-offensive of 2023, which cost 200 billion dollars? Nothing. ZERO. Only losses of people and equipment. So keep convincing yourself that Russia is weak and Ukraine is on the rise😊
sorry, i don't speak orc and i can't be bothered to translate.
Want about political negotiations?
Putin is not interested, unless he gets everything he wants. So its not a good faith negotiation. So only way is improving Ukraines position, and play the long game. Until it hurts in Russia
How sad. Such a waste of life. I noticed no one seems to be talking about the fact that not only has Russia been able to RECRUIT at a higher rate than Ukraine can CONSCRIPT. Even if Ukraine mobilized every man woman and child its still under 40 million humans. Whereas Russia is sitting over 144 million humans. What does this resolve? If Ukraine can conscript Russia can do exact same thing at a much larger capacity. The military math isnt there. If Ukraine fights to the last human russia will still be standing. If youre willing to make this trade just to hurt Putin then i dont believe you are motivated by love of Ukrainians but hate for Russians.
