    Finding a pristine fryer like that to work on is a damn unicorn. 90% of the time Im elbow deep in grease 5 minutes in. lol.

      Yep BUT these millivolt units can be kept way more clean cuz without all the filtering piping and electronics everywhere it’s easily maintained. But also a high rise employee cafe is light use.

    Yes they do have quality control issues. I've opened 2 new buildings in the past month, and had to change high limits and thermostats first week on brand new pitco fryers

    There is a high limit in series with the thermopile that will keep the pilot from staying lit if open. That is the first component to check.

      Not in this case. You can see the thermopile direct into the valve. It’s safety preferable the break the pilot with the high temp safety but quite often they only break the main valve and thermostat.

      @@restaurantrepairs Looking closer I see what you are saying. Thanks

      You’re not wrong tho. Many pitcos break the pilot also so good catch being it UL for discussion. Maybe someone end in my video and replaces a thermopile only to find a bad limit. 👍

    adjust your pilot flame pressure to high and burning out t-pile earlier then normal.

    Hello, I have a frymaster fryer that turns on and after a while it gives me the help error, which may be that I changed the relay and it still gives the error.
    I sent you the photo too

    That pilot is running too high. It burns the thermopile in 6 months. Put the meter to it and adjust it to 550mv

    From what I've seen on your channel, those fryers should be called ArmPitCo ...because they stink.

      Frymaster isn’t any better. You see a ton of them cuz I serve 35 locations with 6 fryers each all pitco of one style or another. Let’s call it like it is anyway. All equipment is trash in todays society

      @@restaurantrepairs Sadly that is true, It is in every facet, HVAC, appliances, tools, etc.

    why the hell do they not have electronic ingnition keeping a pilot flame is wasteful

    • @restaurantrepairs
      @restaurantrepairs  Місяць тому +4

      Couldn’t disagree more…. What’s wasteful? The cost of the gas itself? One ignition module replacement service costs more than an entire year of a standing pilot. There’s no solid state controller to fail, no control board to blow a fuse. It’s perfect. I’d eliminate all those other fryers and take over the world with sg14 millivolt fryers…. But that’s just me. 😂

      Standing pilots are tried and true... they will hold up through all the grease and gunk that will quickly invade the underside of the fryer. They can be repaired or maintained by most tier 1 maintenance people.
