Mine too about 80's vampire movies, also Fright night part II is best sequel, i haven't ever kept part II worse or nothing like that, part II is maybe underrated amd wrong reasons, it's great, one of cult movies
Watched it Saturday! I love it!! I watched it when I was 16. I have seen it many times. Chris Sarandon grew up by where I lived in West Virginia. He’s such a great actor! Dog Day Afternoon is another great movie! So handsome!!!
There's a scene/line in the movie that always stuck with me. The Dandridge character tells Charlie "let me give you a choice I didn't have " (or something to that effect). It put a spin on Dracula as a tragic figure I hadn't seen before. Well done movie.
And then he actually turned into a vampire during production, that's why he looks so good at 80. Thank you Mr. Sarandon for making my childhood just a bit more awesome with this movie 💖
I couldn't agree more! Plus, he is still the sexiest vampire of all times! He was really charming and hot! The dance scene was one of the hottest I have ever seen! He knew how to seduce women! He got a way with them!
I love fright night. Chris Sarandon was so sexy in that. He was ridiculously attractive in his youth. He aged like fine wine. He still looks friggin' phenomenal.
Grew up with the poster for this movie over my bed, not a great idea when you suffer with nightmares but still regrets, classic poster for a classic movie.
@@dawnatkinson7704 It has the poster picture on the front of the book. And another version had a dark color with a fang coming out of the Fright Night. Funny silly story: back in 85 when it came out, my friend did a book report in her English class (she was in sort of a lower English level than me) on this movie. The teacher had a problem with it because the story took place in "the future". The movie came out in the summer and the book says "Fall 1985 setting" and the teacher wouldn't accept that it could be in the "future". It was so stupid.

This was the best vampire movie ever made. It made you feel the dear and horror of living next to a monster who is going to kill you and no one believes you because you're a kid. Jerry Dandridge changed the Hollywood trope of vampires. He didn't wear black cape. he was charming and charismatic and wise. And he embraced the natur of the monster he had become, with brief moments of remembering his humanity. And it has one of the best soundtracks of any 80s movie.
I only saw the first one and I was bewitched it I already knew him through all his previous performances unfortunately he disappeared from greek screens and it is the first time I hear of him in twenty years I am so glad to be able to see him again through interviews as he remains charming and he was my favourite
After watching this movie...I told the girls at work...that vampire and only that vampire, can bite me anytime. Chris melts my heart in Fright Night...and is an all time favorite. 😉😄
I did text him a long message wanted to tell how much I love him. And sent an e-mail. One of his team's member's said "he don't respond the messages which UNREALISTIC and takes his time" e mailed me back. And then Chris ignored the comments I wrote on the post which I asked polietly to chech his dm. He liked everyone's comment except mine. That broke my heart. That was really rude being ignored. I wanna believe his instagram runs by someone else (manager or smth) because that was (also the mail) so rude. And broke my heart
Apparently, there was one pitch for the FRIGHT NIGHT remake which would've starred Chris playing himself in the Peter Vincent role, after a fan of the original FRIGHT NIGHT experiences a similar situation with a real vampire moving in next door to his house. As far as remake ideas go, it was absolutely fucking brilliant. So of COURSE Hollywood didn't go for it.
One of my favorite vampire films of all times and one of my favorite vampires of all time. Chris Sarandon absolutely crushed it as Jerry Dandridge! I can’t even say how many times I’ve watched this film growing up. Massive part of my childhood and love of horror films.
Loved Chris from the 70s and then in 1979 in The Sentinel. When I saw Fright Night, I was just crazy about you (and of course later in Child's Play and on Judging Amy and in Alanis Morissette's music video)! When Fright Night came out, I was so in love with the film, my best friend and I went to see it EVERY Sunday for the summer. It was just so wonderful and fun and scary and funny. I went for Roddy but stayed for you, Chris! You were a delightfully perfect Jerry Dandridge. You made vampires sexy, much like Frank Langella did in 1979 but also with a wink to the audience! I loved the music, the story, the goofy William Ragsdale's Charlie, Roddy's Vampire Killer, Billy Cole, and even the nutty cop, Art J Evans! I even bought the film-book version.
Chris Sarandon voice actor played of Kurotowa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. "Kurotowa." is the tertiary antagonist of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. He is Kushana's right hand man. Appearance in Act 1 haos contestir Vol 1.
Chris is an amazing actor ,a character actor of drama action and horror..I hope a new fright night film will feature Chris and the rest of the fright night original cast..number 2 was good ,sadly no Peter Vincent...the great Roddy McDowell passed away now
I'm watching Fright night right now! Chris is still gorgeous! He IS a vampire 🤣🦇🦇🦇🦇 I fell in love with Jerry Dandridge when I first saw this awesome film in 85' when I was 13. I'm so happy the cast are all still friends, I didn't expect that! How wonderful! I miss the 80's but that made me smile 😁💜👍
Fright Night is one of my favorite vampire movies. Sarandon was so good as Jerry Dandritch, so incredibly seductive. His scenes with Amy almost fried my teenage brain when it came out, lol. It always gave me a thrill, since my name is also Amy. Still does, if I’m heading honest. 😂🤣🖤
Well. Fright night ia 80's best movie, also very atmospheric and actors fits their roles, it wouldn't nothing without Chris Sarandon in Jerry Dandridge fit in vampire, so i see that. Exactly the same thing, in Regine fit Julie Carmen, fit in female vampire, both movies are succeed and cult movies
_Fright Night_ is one of the greatest horror films ever made. I haven't seen it in a pretty long time but I have seen it at least 3 times. NGL; that last scene with Stephen Geoffreys still kinda freaks me out, but overall it's a great horror film. William Ragsdale, Chris Sarandon and the late, great Roddy McDowall really make this film special. I didn't know that the same director who made this film also made _Child's Play!!_ I've also seen that film at least 3 times as well. Personally, I think the Jerry Dandridge role in _Fright Night_ was a meatier role for Chris Sarandon, but he was pretty solid in _Child's Play._ Of course we also all remember him fondly from Rob Reiner's _The Princess Bride_ which was made right in-between _Fright Night_ and _Child's Play._ Here's a fun trivia fact: _Child's Play_ had both Chris Sarandon and Brad Dourif starring in it. Both of them were Oscar®-nominated for their only time ever in 1975; Chris Sarandon for _Dog Day Afternoon,_ and Brad Dourif for _One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest._
Fright Night is the best vampire movie out there. No one can play Jerry Dandrige better. Then Chris Sarandon. No offense to Colin Farrell in the remake. He is a good actor. Chris Sarandon is the one for the part. Still a good looking man. At any age. Fright Night forever. ♥️🦇🧛
funny how he relays this story to the clown who walked away from the best role he could ever hope for and helped destroy the best superman series of all time in the process. hey....,.how's that career goin' mike?
Fright night is still by far one of my favorite movies!!
Mine too about 80's vampire movies, also Fright night part II is best sequel, i haven't ever kept part II worse or nothing like that, part II is maybe underrated amd wrong reasons, it's great, one of cult movies
To me too.
Same here. Iconic vampire movie on my personal list. I have to rewatch every halloween.

Cute little comment. He's still handsome at 80.😘
Wow he's 80 never realized that
Tell he's taken good care of himself as well
@@TylerHingleton oh yeah, that too.
Had the honor to meet him at a convention last month. He’s so sweet and still super handsome.
Fright Night absolutely brilliant Chris was brilliant as Jerry.
Chris Sarandon IS Fright Night, he played Jerry to perfection - I can't picture anyone else in that role.
I couldn't agree more! Plus, he is still the sexiest vampire of all times! He was really charming and hot! The dance scene was one of the hottest I have ever seen! He knew how to seduce women! He got a way with them!

Exactly.
Yes. Still attractive in his 80s but the 40's was his best looking.
@@tasha1985 I agree.
He definitely was the sexy vampire, but you also knew that just under that was a dude you didn't want to mess with.
HIS Jerry Dandridge from Fright Night IS in my opinion his crowning glory. Loved that movie from the first time I saw it in the cinema in '85.
Grew up with the poster for this movie over my bed, not a great idea when you suffer with nightmares but still regrets, classic poster for a classic movie.
The soundtrack really made this movie...brilliant!
I saw the movie on its opening weekend and then the next day I ran out and bought the LP of the soundtrack! Then later the book adaptation. hehe
@@jbjacobs9514 I didn't know there was a book adaptation!

I can watch this movie fright Night more than 10 times and never gets bored. In My Opinion. The Best Vampire Movie Ever
Same here
Certainly the best vampire movie that I remember from the 80s.
He was great in Fright Night and Child's Play. I hope he comes back to Chucky would be cool.

Precisely put so well!! My thoughts exactly 🙂!!
He was the best in FRIGHT NIGHT!
Him or Roddy McDowall, due to the fact, how the latter was such a damn coward after he found out Charley was telling the truth about Jerry lmao
I love the original Fright Night he was in🖤
He was the best looking vampire. Tall, dark, handsome and seductive.
I met Chris at a Comic-Con a few years back. He's a super nice guy, very polite, and humble.
Fright Night is my favorite vampire movie and Chris Sarandon is my favorite vampire
I only saw the first one and I was bewitched it I already knew him through all his previous performances unfortunately he disappeared from greek screens and it is the first time I hear of him in twenty years I am so glad to be able to see him again through interviews as he remains charming and he was my favourite
Chris looks great. He could;d do a sequel for sure.
I am eternally grateful that he took the role. He is the main reason I watch that movie incessantly
Can't imagine anybody but Chris Sarandon playing Jerry! One of my favorite horror movies!
He was just perfect! I love this story! It is so cool they all hang out. RIP Roddy. I am glad everyone else is pretty much still here.
He was genuinely a scary vampire.

Throughly entertaining movie. I saw it in the theatre when it was released in 1985 and just loved it. The cast was awesome.

I love both Fright Night & Smallville!!!
Are you the guy in Cursed? Look familiar. Fright Night is a great classic
He was born and raised in Beckley, WV. Just a bit of trivia.
I would never have guessed, he has the aire of someone from NYC, if that makes sense lol
I've watched this movie so many times that I've lost count. Jerry Dandridge is the most compelling vampire ever.

'Fright Night' wouldn't be the same without Chris Sarandon. But then he had a cameo in the remake which should have never seen the light of day.
Fright night 1985 Classic
Good performance on his part help make the movie work became a fan Chis Sarandon after that all respect for his acting ability 👏
He has aged so well ❤❤❤❤❤

Chris Sarandon absolutely SLAYED that role. Fright Night is a cult classic for a reason, and Chris' performance for me was the biggest reason.
Nobody played a vampire like you! A real vampire can con people into thinking they are not.
