- Venezuelan-American comedian, writer, and actress Joanna Hausmann brings some humor to the OFF in NY stage with a comedic performance addressing Nicolas Maduro's authoritarian regime. Hausmann's videos, which first appeared on Univision's bilingual digital platform "Flama”, center on issues of culture and politics in both the U.S. and Latin America. Her work has won her "Best Comedian" and "Creator of the Year" from Hispanicize's 2016 Tecla awards. The Oslo Freedom Forum is a global event series presented by the Human Rights Foundation (HRF).

tengo entendido que la nacionalidad britanica no se adquiere automaticamente al nacer en territorio britanico, sino que debes de tener algun padre que sea britanico

@ Erik, Su comentario es incorrecto, yo nací en Londres; De madre colombiana y padre de la República de Irlanda - Ambos son inmigrantes y tengo nacionalidad británica. En el Reino Unido hubo una ley para las personas nacidas dentro su territorio y colonias en los años de 1948 la 1983 donde automáticamente se les daba nacionalidad Británica.
Mire a la polémica que estamos teniendo con el gobierno de tarada de Teresa May y las pobres personas del ‘windrush generation’.

Hoy hice mi trámite para la ciudadanía italiana y estoy tan emocionada por el pasaporte igual que tú 😍😁 fui a hacerla con terribles nervios y esperando me rechazaran varias veces y que me faltaran papeles pero no... Fue una tontería que hice en 1 hora, más me tarde en el banco😅 ps: vivo en Argentina
It takes 90 minutes to fill out the form but 4-8 weeks for you to actual get it and if you pay extra it's 2-4 weeks. I don't know where you got your passport in 90 minutes but please let all of us know 😂

But, in some countries they make you jump through so many hoops. They send you from one place to another, appointment after appointment. It’s so tedious you just give up.

I moved to Venezuela april 2009, my dad is venezuelan and worked there, still I only got my cedula(ID) januar 2011, 7 months before I moved to germany.
Had to leave the contry every 3 months because I didnt get my visa let alone a citizenship.
Where are you from and why would you move to Germany?
People may think that the england thing is BS, but one time, I had trouble passing migration in caracas, something to do with the finger print scanner, they called the supervisor, he say no problem, took my thumb look at it, look at the finger print on screen, and said "everything good, you are free to go". Anything can happen down there.

It's pretty much reminds me my story. Born in Ukraine, the country probably with the most corrupt bureaucracy in the Europe, after have been living for over 13 years in Italy, I finally got my European citizenship last yeat. It was like a breath of fresh air for me. I love equality my both countries but I rather prefer to deal with Italian system rather than Ukrainian. Especially in this particular period of time.
How do they let you into Italy if you are from the Ukraine? They have enough poor people themselves.

I don't think everybody will laugh and cry at the same time cause the stressful thing that is getting a passport. It took me 4 months to get my appoiment and 11 months to get the actual passport, and only that short amount of time cause I PAID, FUCKING GOV, AGHH. Ohhh we Latinos and our passport issues. Years ago we needed visas everywhere. Now for some of the countries in LatAm things look a little better now, but still need visas, so I personally assume I have to get one. But at least we can go to Europe now (unfortunately I can't see royal leaminton spa for myself...because I need a visa for the UK😆)

For those of you confused by the ‘England, Great Britain, UK’ thing: England is a nation in Great Britain (the mainland) and the UK includes Northern Ireland across the Irish Sea along with England, Scotland and Wales. Not exactly the same place though lol England is on an island, Great Britain. The Great Britain island has England, Scotland, and Wales. The UK is Great Britain plus Northern Ireland which is on another island.

You can inherit your citizenship- for an example if your parents are Venezuelan but you’re born in the UK you might still become Venezuelan, depending on the laws. While the US has the law that anyone born on its soil automatically becomes a citizen, it works differently in most countries.
