Battlefield Vietnam is a first-person shooter video game, the second in the Battlefield franchise after Battlefield 1942. The game was developed by the Canadian company DICE Canada and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield Vietnam takes place during the Vietnam War and features a large variety of maps based on historical settings, such as the Ho Chi Minh Trail, Battle of Hue, Ia Drang Valley, Operation Flaming Dart, the Battle of Khe Sanh and Fall of Saigon.

that rpd reload was surprisingly detailed

One detail I really like is on the M60 animation, where the player checks to see if there’s a bullet in the chamber. Nice touch!
The sound designer must've been either drunk or new
i dont think there was a sound designer, they're mostly stock sounds.
They're not too bad
They all sound the same!
The designer was using every possible sound in the "Dynamic Range" sound pack by Sound Ideas.

Man, the Recoil springs in the semi and full auto weapons
Stout Is an understatement. Sounds more like you're trying to use a really Inflecible spring instead of a string to ready your bow, not an actual gun.

hahaha, yeah, you can see some mistakes in the weapons too... but thats an old game and the developers didn't care much about the details.
@@evo33_gaming Kinda moreso limited ability given they're using a slightly updated version of the same engine used to make Battlefield 1942. But to be honest, mistakes with weapons in games from the early 2000s were pretty common. Still has that certain charm to it though.
the reload of the S&W revolver was still pretty good though with the M60 and bolt-action rifles

Massive improvement and detail from BF 1942. I remember when I was a kid, I felt amazed on how the reload animations were and the space that the weapons take on screen.
Used to play this game with friends.

Pretty sure it's possible to break the M60 if you reload it like that. You gotta pull the charging handle before you can close the "lid".
Also it's funny to see how they did the reloads for most of the charging handles, especially the AK and M16/XM-177. They pull the charging handle back like they're pulling back on a highly resistant spring. Very weird.
Releasing bolt in BF1942~vietnam looks like Rubber band.

This not smooth animations everyone hated, but if camera moves been added in this, everyone said animations is good. I really like anmthns for 2004
I never realized basically every gun uses the same noises when reloading.
I could never get this game to run on Windows 8 or 10. A shame, since it looked cool.

It's actually a Type 53 machine gun, a Chinese version of the Degtyaryov machine gun ^^
The sks reload was kinda funny
