This is the most useful video I’ve seen in a very long time! To have somebody with your knowledge showing us these practically instant arrangements is really wonderful. I realize it’s Ravenna Nursery that’s actually done the work, but/so thanks for highlighting this useful information. Bravo, bravo, bravo!
Wow, Ravenna Gardens is spectacular! I learned so much as you walked around talking about the plants and possible combinations. You are an inspiration! I'm so lucky to live in the Seattle area just like you. This is a great channel, you should be getting a lot more subscribers.
You could do container planting ideas all day, every day and I wouldn’t ever get bored. Containers next focus, please! Thanks Kate, I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos. 🌿
20:24 Yes! to container selection 101!! Kate thank you so much for taking us along on your inspiration tour. I love to hear your thought process. I’m in SE PA, zone 7a, so probably need to make some different plant choices given our humidity levels, but still you motivate and inspire my thinking. 🎉
Oh my goodness how fun!! I get so excited to plant up my containers every year!! For real large and tall vessels, that are actually affordable I use really old galvanized trash cans that have that really old chalky patina to them. Add a nice big trailer or 2, usually sweet potato vines and some spillers, such as wave petunia, spike in the middle… can’t even see the container by mid summer!
Very informative and fun video!❤ I’d LOVE to see you create a Facebook group where we could all participate with pictures of our own container combos ( with names of plants). Just an idea.
I loved this nursery and your plant information. You really do inspire and help me expand my knowledge! I am looking forward to seeing some of these plants as our independent nurseries open for the season! Yes, I would love a container 101 from you. Have a great day!
Great video. Loved Hebe’s for 10+ years. They are easy care year long border and container shrubs for me in UK with the bonus of different colour palettes, variegation and shrub density available. I would never be without them. 😊
+1 for Ravenna Gardens! So well curated. They also sell a very limited selection of plants from Dan Hinkley (famous plant hunter/collector). His garden in Kingston, WA is called Windcliff. I’ve never been in person but I love to ogle the photos of his garden in Claire Takacs’ book Dreamscapes. Soooo beautiful!! 😍
Excellent ideas but they just don’t work for me Zone 7a East Tennessee, hot and humid,I have had pansies in my containers since October ready to come out . Several other plants you showed work in spring or fall containers for me But color and texture ideas I certainly can use and just use other plants. I have too many containers 😂 so I try to keep them simple and they are big containers,…..it just seems to be easier on the eye. You give great information and inspiration ideas …..I enjoy your videos 🍃🌿. Thanks
Kate. I have tried to work the email several times and can’t do it. I am not tech wise. I will try to get someone to help me work the email. Don’t give up on me. I watch you videos every time. Don’t want to miss you. You have the best ideas I have seen. I do not have a very good imagination or ideas for things.❤ Pat
I would love a choosing containers 101! We are renters so most/all of our gardening is in containers with a borrowed backdrop of established trees and shrubs that are sometimes quite unexciting. How do I choose, group, and place my containers for maximum impact? I’m trying to work with a color theme, but I still seem to end up with a very random garden rather than a cohesive, pleasing escape. Help!😊
Hi Kate, your fan in Woodinville. I cannot grow Hebe in the garden. Do you think it will grow in containers? Treat it like an annual? Yes! I want to see container 101. Grr… then I’ll have to buy new pots.
What video did you announce the winners and how did i miss it??? I have my notifications on but I swear UA-cam doesn't always notify me of new videos 🤔
Hi @aimeesgarden it was announced in the planting dahlias video at the end. Here’s the link in case you missed it. ua-cam.com/video/RD91Pn3m31w/v-deo.html
