    Hi Friends!
    Today's video is making of Gilbert Top pattern by a company called Helen's closet. This was my first time sewing any of their patterns, and I am super impressed by the well drafted pattern and also by the impeccable instruction. I've always wanted to sew with leopard skin fabric and thought this pattern is perfect for it so I gave it a go and I think it turned out really well. I'm super happy with the result.
    The inside of the garment is well encapsulated without hardly any seam showing already, so if you are using more delicate fabric you might even want to consider doing french seam for the sides and the armhole then you'll have a perfectly sewn shirt with no visible seam inside and out!
    I hope you enjoy the video and see you all soon with another make~

    This is the best video for this pattern and I have watched all of them. You are the only one who clearly shows the process and outcome of each step. Grateful!

    Thank you for sharing your beautiful beautiful skills, I believe that you are one of the most talented tutors who can clearly demonstrate what you clearly intend your viewers to achieve, you have achieved this. Your style of tutorial is clean and clear and none of these mad rush to get things done. Sewing is an art and creativity and you have all of them. Thank you for sharing.

    Your close up of your tutorials is amazing. You are such a good seamstress. You seem to choose all the popular patterns which is great.

      I love Libby and have made several 😃 I have done some Sew Over It videos but since then they have launched paid tutorial classes as far as I know. I am just staying away from making things from the companies that have their own videos so I do not take away their viewers and the patterns are rightfully theirs so ;) I hope you understand!!

    앞으로도 많이 올려주세요.
    작은 부탁을 하나 드리자면 재봉중 팁이나 신경 써서 해야하는 부분에 랩님의 음성이 나왔으면 하는데 무리일까요?

    Can somebody explain me why she sewed the seams at 1 inch to later cut them? Why not make a smaller seam allowance in the first place? I'm really curious of the why, thank u!

    • @SewingLab
      @SewingLab  4 роки тому

      Hi the seam allowance is 1.5cm (5/8”), it’s given in the pattern. Then you grade (cut seams in different width) to reduce the bulk. If you want to skip this process, you can adjust the pattern itself to the desired seam allowance in the parts u’d like before cutting the fabric, you can totally do that, although it wouldn’t be a common thing to do as the pattern will end up with different seam allowances in different parts.

    • @SewingLab
      @SewingLab  4 роки тому

      And also, working with bigger seam allowance then grading later is so much easier than working on curves and corners with small seam allowance. This is how most sewers would sew but really there is NO RIGHT way of sewing, you can sew however the way you’d prefer!!

    패턴을 어떠케 구할수있나요?

      어머.. 제 별명도 코알라 =^0^= 라서 깜놀.. 했어요 ㅋ 패턴은 제가 설명란에 링크를 올려 두었거든요. 거기서 PDF 파일을 구매하셔서 다운로드 하는 거에요. 그래서 출력하셔서 이어붙이기 하는 수고가 좀 있어요 ^^;; 제 오래전 처음 영상 보시면 패턴 출력해서 붙이는 방법에 대한 비디오가 있답니다. 또 모르시는 거 있으면 물어보세요~
