Okay, so I was there as this went down (that's my guitar and rig), and it was glorious. He didn't warm up or do anything other than tune. We did three takes to get the three separate camera angles, and every single take was stupid good. Take two (what you hear in this video) brought tears to my eyes. I never stop being amazed by Daniele's playing... not just the shred (though, yes, most certainly that), but the intonation, the phrasing, the nuances. And this is how he plays live. LIVE. I'll refrain from expletives, but seriously...
I mean, seriously, just making my way through his videos, this guy is such a phenomenal player, cannot believe it has taken me until now to notice him. As you say, everything is flawless, reminds me a lot of Guthrie Govan's playing only with less picking and more legato. Absolutely jawdropping stuff! 😯
I don't know of any other guitarist who has mastered the beautifully seemless, tonally, emotionally (not to mention technically astounding) complex long phraseology he uses. Yeh I better get on to his patreon and start learning!

Although I have never been there, I recognize Gretchen's house :-) This guy it's simply amazing, what a Karma he has : an incredible talent and...even a wonderful gorgeous woman as a life partner...what more can someone ask for? ;-)
I see style here. That is more important! You have your own recognisable style on playing the guitar. It is in the small things like vibrato, legato, picking... ok, not so small things but you know what I mean! Keep rocking!
daniele gottardo has a unique and excellent playing style like randy rhoads had, i mean no equal, but original and precised. most guitar players uses taping but only to show velocity no melody. the music is melody and that is daniele is showing in this incredible performance. congratulations gretchen and daniele you both are easily one of the best dupla of guitar players in the world right now. saludos.

You can hear the classical & Steve Vai influences, but this man has his own unique voice and style. No just a guitar virtuoso, he's a fine artist.
