I was never a big user of eye creams, unless they came with a set. But this past year I've bought the Benton fermentation eye cream, which is awesome and doesn't move into the eyes, and the Heimish marine care eye cream, after seeing it in one of your videos. And I'm onto my second jar now. I swear it's improved my eye area. Plus there's so much product I use all over the face some times also. I use my actives etc right around the eye area so I never felt the need for separate products but I am liking the ones I have and will probably buy more now, after being so impressed with the Heimish one.
I am feeling convinced that the Heimish is a bottomless pit! Its a very good thing to say overall, but it still surprises me - honestly, you probably have a very good idea there in also using it on the face! That one is a true hidden gem; I am so surprised it doesn't get more attention!
Hey Kelly! I saw your comment about ointment for dry eyes in my notifications but for some reason can't find it here. That is such a good idea! My eyes do water ALL of the time, especially at night. I will try it. Thanks for mentioning!
I’m really enjoying this series. I tried a few eye creams and wasn’t impressed. But I’ve been using the Dear Klairs Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter for about 2 months and I’ve seen a difference! My eyelids look less creppy. In the queue are the Cosrx Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream and the Versed Zero-G Smoothing Eye Cream. Looking forward to trying both but it’ll be hard to beat the eye cream from Dear Klairs.
My intro to eye creams was Glow Recipe Avocado. Don’t remember if it worked but it was really fun! Right now I’m using the Yerba Mate in the morning (because it’s caffeinated) and DDG at night. I can’t thank you enough for introducing me to a $69 eye serum. ❤️❤️
The only eye cream I have found so far that hasn't irritated my eyes is the Cerave. I have also used the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry Skin (fragrance free, not the eye cream) as an "eye serum" in the past. I have tried the Benton Fermentation, elf CBD, and CosRx snail.
I love eye products. Definitely a number of things I want to try in this list! I do really like the Glow Recipe. Before I tried that I tried the Paula's Choice retinol eye cream, which was fine but not as effective, and now I have a sample of the Tony Moly pumpkin retinol eye cream, and that's working really nicely. But I do want something nourishing and emollient too. My under-eyes are so dry near the corners that I have a lot of trouble using concealer. Instead I've been using the Tula balm in the morning? I like that too. And I am the queen of fine lines, so I could give the Dr. Dennis Gross serum a whirl, but I do wonder if I could tolerate it.
My friend just sent me an eye cream she wanted to to try, Sukoyaka Suhada..after only a few days in - I LOVE IT ❤ I'm also going to buy their essence.. We are healing slowly but steady.. love you bunches 💗
Enjoy the video... though I'm incredibly disappointed you like the Dr. Dennis Gross serum. Unfortunately I too like the serum and have found it to be very effective for my undereyes despite one being a bit finicky when dealing with actives (I can use this nightly without issues) and was crossing my fingers you'd recommend a less costly serum alternative. As far as eye creams I have to say I'm sticking with the Korean creams containing powerful peptide mixes. They seem to work as well or better than any others I've tried and many can be found with .75 to 1 oz containers for $10 during sales. I have a full size of the Pyunkang Yul Black Tea Eye Cream I picked up from Style Korean for $9.99 as an example.
I am very much hoping to find a similar product for less $! Hopefully it's not the same story as the alpha beta peel - where year after year, I accept that I still haven't found anything better I feel that it's best summarized like this: western brands have stronger actives (because they can), and sometimes the more pricey brands seem to be ahead in results (likely because they had the resources to conduct more advanced research) But I see little reason to stick with Western products for the gentler ingredients. That aspect is where K-Beauty excels!
Hello! 👋 I do not buy eye cream anymore. I just find most so over priced and my face moisturizers are good enough. The first one I bought was a year ago, Murad Hydration. I still am using it. I forget to use it daily which is my bad with eye creams and maybe I’d notice a difference if I used it daily. 🤦♀️ 😂 I must say it is so soft and moisturizing, I do like it! Next I have the Algenist triple algae to try, which I’m excited about as got in my FFF box and I also purchase the full size cleansing oil and few months ago got the moisturizer and a gold serum. I cannot wait to crack them all open together! The gold serum was due to your reviews, actually me discovering Alienist is due to you! My friend fell in love with it as well after trying my little size cleansing oil I picked up at Winners and she took it home so I barely tried it myself 😂
Getting eye creams in sub boxes is the way to GO haha!! I could not believe the price/oz of these in actually writing out the (admittedly simple) math. $200/oz!! Pheww!! 😱 But brands have competition now, so they're having to drop the prices/run sales/put their products in boxes. Win win for us 🤣 Ah the Algenist collagen is so lovely 😍

I'm glad you covered Boomerang. I really like it and there's not much chatter out there about it. It IS better in the daytime, and I may have noticed a little pilling with some things, but I'm still testing to figure out what exactly is interacting. Nevertheless, I can see a difference around my eyes during the day when I don't use it. Plug, a little goes a LONG way, so that little tub lasts nearly three months.
I have a running Alice list of all the products I want to try that you recommend…. 😂 I will have to add the the DDG eye serum. I finally tried to peel pads per your rec and they are just as amazing as you said. Normally my skin doesn’t like AHAs so I tread carefully but man they work and my skin loves it
100% agree on the Heimish (OMG the thickest ever, I can’t handle it but ppl in dry climates with dry skin must love it) and Elf (happily finished one and would repurchase; the CosRx Snail Peptide feels similar) and Pyunkang Yul (just started this, perfect for my normal-type skin). I don’t use eye creams because I think I “need” to, just because I like the idea that they may have gone through more targeted testing and therefore I don’t have to worry as much if a little gets in my eye. 😬 I cannot bring myself to slow down and do gentle piano-playing finger taps to apply it! 😆 I have a sample of the Fresh Black Tea serum and quite like it. They are a brand that does cosmetic elegance so well. 🤩 But I must try the GR Avocado!! ☮️💟🤗
That's good to know about the Cosrx snail! Does it play well with makeup also? Yeah, same for me with eye creams. I feel like it ends up being a much more tricky conversation than it needs to be: I've seen a lot of TEAM EYE CREAM vs TEAM EYE CREAM IS A SCAM (would make a great BattleBots episode actually 🤔). In practice, it's an optional step - but if we like eye cream, that can be a sufficient reason to use it. Plus...there's deals to be found, as per usual lol!

Have u tried the derma e eye cream the stem cell lifting one with copper peptides and kakdo plum it looks really nice and fragerance free. I never tried derma e products cause I thought all of them were ess oil and high frangerance but I have notice some that doesn't have either.
I’m lucky and can use all of my face skincare on my eyes no problem, except of course my tret and my DE TLC. That has me eyeing 🤣 the DDG. And now I’m curious about the Heimish too, I wonder if my sweet face would like it all over as a night cream? I did buy the GR set so I’ll try the avocado soon. The Kiehl’s avocado felt rich but didn’t do much else for me. I’m working through NIOD FECC right now but I’m not enjoying it.
The DDG exceeded my expectations in so many ways. First off, I thought "this can't work around the eyes without burning/stinging!!" Well, it did. Then I thought "so it must be too low in actives to actually do anything?!" Well, it did. If I could choose any brands lab to visit: it would be DDG. I desperately need to see what the heck is going on over there. How do they do it LOL The Heimish would make SUCH an occlusive face cream! I saw another comment say they have used it in this way, and now I think I want to try it at least once 🤔
GR avocado retinol eye cream is one of my favs 😍I also really enjoy the eye cream from mudmasky and it's really affordable P.S. accepting donations here 🙋♀️😉 Is Heimish Hyrams brand? 🤔 Also...do you apply the eye serum under your eye cream? Thanks so much 🙏 😘
Yep, same order as facial serum/moisturizer 😊 ideally an eye serum works in the same way as a facial serum too, in that it delivers a targeted treatment. Heimish is a Korean brand best known for their all clean cleansing balm - which is indeed a good one! I haven't tried too much more from them (that, eye cream, and a couple masks), but my impression is that they offer great options as long as you're okay with a little bit of fragrance. Hope that helps!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thanks lady! 🥰 Now I wish I chose the Heimish eye cream as my Ipsy glam bag choice yesterday. It was part of choice and because I never heard of the brand, I didn't choose it. So I went in last night to try to change my choice and Ipsy wouldn't let me. But at least now I know for next time or add ons based off your review and others here in the comments section too! I did choose the algenist algae eye cream as my BoxyCharm Base choice so I'm looking forward to that next month! Have a fabulous blessed weekend my friend! xo Kristen 😘
I really like this series. Regarding eye products, I have been enjoying the Medicube eye cream, but I love Niod’s serum. I noticed you didn’t include the Purito’s eye cream that was in the Stylevana advent calendar. That one is very calming for those days when allergies get my eyes irritated.
My mistake, I do keep forgetting to explain the criteria for inclusion in this series! All the products that I'm including have been part of extended trials or used for extended periods (including samples, which often represent previous full sizes) - I want this to be a series about results first, texture/enjoyment second But in the meantime, I'm planning the trials for 2022: Isntree for SURE, possibly Purito? I still like brand-focused trials the most as they really give me a feel for what each brand's strengths/weaknesses are
I don't know what it is but I have to have an eye cream! Lol. I recently have been loving the Josie Maran and Algenist if I feel like splurging. I also love the Herbal Dynamics one I have recently tried with Vitamin K. Have anyone else tried their products? I am on the fence in trying the new Sunday Riley!
I’m curious about the Sunday Riley myself. I go back and forth on that brand as they have some incredible hits (Good Genes, Luna, Juno) but then other products did not work out for me at ALL (the CEO line!) makes it so hard to decide 🥺
Not stupid at all, that's a great question! Skin care products do migrate, but you want to avoid getting products directly in your eyes. So the recommended use is around the eye area, with a bit of space before the eye itself. I apply eye creams under my brow and to my arch, but not the lid itself - and allow some spacing under my eye as well. The exception is that retinoids are debatable: some say not to apply them under your brow at all (mostly referring to tret here, which I don't use and thus can't have my own opinion on). HTH!
I’m unsure if I should use eye creams now for prevention or not. I don’t have fine lines yet and don’t need depuffing or brightening, but I always wonder if I should use one that has peptides and/or retinol for prevention? I also bring all my facial skincare up to my under eyes and eyelids (except for strong AHAs and BHAs).
Tbh if you don't deal with sensitivity/milia, you may be able to just keep using your regular serums/moisturizers around your eyes! And as the math for this video CERTAINLY did demonstrate lol - that will likely save you quite a bit!! 👀 My only caution is that stronger retinoid serums can be too much around the eyes. I've tried it, I've wept (very literally!), and have settled on enjoying my retinol eye creams/eye cream in general. ...just not the $198/oz options 😳
Really like the glow recipe avocado eye cream however I really dislike the packaging and the more you use the more I dislike it - lol! Would prefer it in a pump … that would make it the chef’s kiss for me : )
I feel ya; so many products would be that much better in a pump! My guess is that it's too thick to work without clogging though - and since I like thick products, I've had to adapt to the method of ye olden scoop 😆
Does the Pyunkang Yul work well under concealer? I'm in desperate need of an eye cream/serum for under makeup. My undereyes are really dry and I have a few fine lines that are exaggerated with concealer and powder. Or if you have another suggestion please share. Thank you so much
Do the lines happen through the day (as in makeup is bringing them out) or are you looking to smooth pre-existing lines? I have different recs depending on that!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole honestly both. But I usually use a product withactives at night to help with existing lines. I dont think its working unless it's just preventing new lines from forming. Would you mind giving both recommendations? I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much for responding 😀
Ok so I do think serums - if you’re interested in that - can make a big impact. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a dedicated eye serum, but if you want to try that direction: the DDG is probably the most high impact eye serum I have ever tried (recently repurchased it since this video). I still like the inexpensive Farmstay as a straightforward hydrator. The main reason for a serum is so it can get into your skin more efficiently and hydrate from within! Then, I like a hefty occlusive at night. The Heimish is fantastic, also repurchased Kiehls (it’s in my most recent routine!) these help with locking in the serum, and the eye area looks smooth and hydrated in the AM! AM eye creams can be something lighter. Both the pyunkang yul and the Benton fermentation are in my rotation right now. They’re great medium weight eye creams (Benton is a smidge lighter) and both are nice under makeup - just make sure to wait about 10m after applying and before makeup And finally - after makeup, a very light dusting of a very finely milled powder can make a world of difference! I think concealers can sometimes slip in the cracks (rude of them if you ask me lol) while powder can set the concealer and prevent that. HTH!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole you have helped me so much! Thank you for such a detailed response. I will definitely get the Heimish eye cream especially if it helps your undereyes stay moisture through the night. Actually I have been debating on the Pyunkang , Bentonville, Klairs eye gel, and the Cosrx peptide eye creams so thank you for helping me make a decision. If you haven't tried the Klairs eye gel it is really good under makeup I just need something slightly more hydrating(and I want to try something new😊). Again thank you for your informative response. I'm sure that you've helped many others as well
It really is 😭 however I have not. But I’ll add: I bought a backup and yet I’m over here STILLLLL working my way through the first one. So to it’s credit, it lasts an unbelievably long period of time
@@AliceintheRabbitHole well, maybe I can rationalize it that way in my brain haha hopefully with Black Friday coming up maaaaybe there'll be a discount out there 🤞 thank you! I've just subbed today and binging your videos right now 😁
Places near me won’t take open/used skincare and I don’t blame them one bit. I’m still pretty anti-tub and that’s when it’s just me? Anything I’m not in love with I take down to the neck and chest and hands and keep the best for my sweet face.
I genuinely think PR should be sample sizes 🤐 And yet, I know why it isn't - I've had negativity towards reviews of minis. That's STILL wild to me: a review of a travel size isn't less useful than a review of a full size 🙄 But yep, in a practical sense: those sampler sets/GWPs helped me keep a manageable collection - it's still the way to go IMO so as to test drive products and not experience the overwhelmed feeling I get now!
YEP 100%. I see a bit too much guilt around beauty products - I think people should be allowed to enjoy their hobbies as long as they don't negatively affect others (and enjoying makeup for the fun/art aspect or skincare for the self care? That's a net positive!)
Thank you for your recommendations, the Pyunkang Yul Black Tea Eye Cream is next on my list. The Good Molecules Yuba Mate Eye Gel’s price is too good to not try it. I would love to try the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask, but the price is too high for me.
I didn't like the PKY eye cream I thought I would I mean I liked it but I was got it hoping for a fresh dupe but it gave me milia bumps under my eye so sad 😢 and I can do thicker creams I mean the BB eye base kheils avacado the alegenist one u know the one I loved those in the past. I really want to try the Benton snail and the fermented one. I use the cosrx peptide snail eye cream it's been my go to for the past year its kinda like a eye serum and lotion cream in one.
Oh no!! Oh wow yeah I'm so surprised to hear that 😭 one more frustration of skin care - just because a product looks like it should work/looks non-irritating, doesn't mean it will be And vice versa, gotta love that too. Oh skincare. Why are you so confusing!! 😭😭
Regarding ideas for donating skincare, its my understanding that you can donate it to women shelters. For example, shelters for women victim of domestic violence.
I was never a big user of eye creams, unless they came with a set.
Heimish also has a great cleanser and balm that are fragrance- free.
@@natsomuch that's awesome to know! Thankyou!! 🙂
Seriously..."ain't nobody got time for that!" LOL. Wowsers.
All the products that I'm including have been part of extended trials or used for extended periods (including samples, which often represent previous full sizes) - I want this to be a series about results first, texture/enjoyment second
But in the meantime, I'm planning the trials for 2022: Isntree for SURE, possibly Purito?
So this may sound stupid, but : do we apply eye cream on the under eye area and the eyelid? Or just under eye???
Not stupid at all, that's a great question!
Skin care products do migrate, but you want to avoid getting products directly in your eyes. So the recommended use is around the eye area, with a bit of space before the eye itself. I apply eye creams under my brow and to my arch, but not the lid itself - and allow some spacing under my eye as well. The exception is that retinoids are debatable: some say not to apply them under your brow at all (mostly referring to tret here, which I don't use and thus can't have my own opinion on). HTH!
You look super glowy today!
Thank you! 🥰
I use the Farmacy Honey Grail oil under my eyes at night. I enjoy the extra something, something ❌⭕
Farmacy has such great options. Before this year ends, I'm hoping to do a brand review of them!! It's time to update that lol
My only caution is that stronger retinoid serums can be too much around the eyes. I've tried it, I've wept (very literally!), and have settled on enjoying my retinol eye creams/eye cream in general.
...just not the $198/oz options 😳
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Thank you for the suggestions! Omg yeah I never expected eye creams to be soooo expensive.
I qm the same. No problems around my eye area for the most part. ❌⭕
They’re great medium weight eye creams (Benton is a smidge lighter) and both are nice under makeup - just make sure to wait about 10m after applying and before makeup
And finally - after makeup, a very light dusting of a very finely milled powder can make a world of difference!
I'm sure that you've helped many others as well
Hi there have you found a dupe for the DDG serum? It's just so 💸💸
It really is 😭 however I have not.
I genuinely think PR should be sample sizes 🤐
And yet, I know why it isn't - I've had negativity towards reviews of minis. That's STILL wild to me: a review of a travel size isn't less useful than a review of a full size 🙄
But yep, in a practical sense: those sampler sets/GWPs helped me keep a manageable collection - it's still the way to go IMO so as to test drive products and not experience the overwhelmed feeling I get now!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole baffling, I am all about that minis life!
You know I'd rather have a skincare obsession than an unhealthy one. And the only other option I know of where to donate skin care is in my PO. BOX
YEP 100%.
I see a bit too much guilt around beauty products - I think people should be allowed to enjoy their hobbies as long as they don't negatively affect others (and enjoying makeup for the fun/art aspect or skincare for the self care? That's a net positive!)
Hello my suggestion is to donate your skin care to a woman shelter. Love love your videos btw
Thank you 😊
Agreed! I have had fit throwers 😡❌⭕
It's so frustrating!
Oh no!! Oh wow yeah I'm so surprised to hear that 😭 one more frustration of skin care - just because a product looks like it should work/looks non-irritating, doesn't mean it will be
And vice versa, gotta love that too. Oh skincare. Why are you so confusing!! 😭😭
Regarding ideas for donating skincare, its my understanding that you can donate it to women shelters. For example, shelters for women victim of domestic violence.
Thank you! 😊
Eye creams are marketing genius, man some of them are pricey per ounce!
RIGHT!?
