Have you had any problems with rusting?

What do you recommend to seal the wire? ☺️

I never ended up sealing mine, and the plants don't seem to care. :D

    Copper doesn't rust. Easy peasy!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing this idea :) For the first planter with the saucer, how do you keep a reservoir or just water through for leca?

I just splash some nutrient water in there 1-2 times per week and leave as much water as will fit in the saucer. :)

Thank you! I will try that also! I have some pots similar to yours that I would love to use for my leca plants. They are so pretty!

This could be an old wives tale, but I heard copper is bad for plants.
Have you heard this and is there any validity to it?

Did the plants do fine with the copper?

    • @CorkysPlants
      @CorkysPlants  3 роки тому +1

they seem to do just fine without having the copper sealed :)

That’s greAt- how are you knowing when to water these without using a net pot?

      Muscles memory and habit 😅
I used to monitor water levels/moisture carefully. Now I kind of just walk around like a zombie with the watering can.
I would suggest starting with a any set up that you feel comfortable with, and moving on from there.

Am curious is that copper wire what is used for jewelry?

I don’t know anything about jewelry but I think this is for electrical use. It’s 8 gauge wire that I found on amazon.

How is this working for you? I believe it is Meranda of Planterina that said copper and plants should never be together.

So far, so good. She might be right, I just didn’t know that was a rule. I’ll update if I see decline in the plants that are potted with the copper.

I'm so bummed out about that, love copper...
Galvanized steel will not rust (or patina like copper will ❤️ Which is why I wanted to use it!) and its pretty cheap at Lowe's or Home Depot. I'm hoping to find a 12gauge, but 14 should work as well.
