Then give them the money they need to end this war fast, which will reduce the chances of an accident happening. The truth is Putin is not stupid or crazy enough to actually launch nukes, he knows it would be the end of him, and possibly Russia itself. The US actually is the stronger nuclear arsenal, half of Russia's nukes don't work and the US has well maintained and better nuclear tech in general. US also has better geographical positioning and orbital control, and can kill Putin at any moment, no matter how deep he digs his bunker.
Putin will not use nukes. However, that doesn't mean a nuclear accident cannot happen at a power plant, so give Ukraine more aid, so they can more easily push Russia out of their land and prevent a disaster from occurring. Ukraine has shown precision and restraint, Russia has shown the opposite.

Putin started the Donbas conflict because he knew Ukraine becoming more Democratic would end his plans of conquering Eastern Europe, so he needed to keep them weak and at war, but I think they have every right to pursue democracy, and Russia has no right to try to stop that. Even in the 2014-2022 part Russia killed way more civilians, and only invaded cause they were scared of Ukraine going more democratic as they saw that as a threat to their Imperial ambitions. Russia has since killed tens of thousands in Ukraine as they see this as their last chance to conquer Ukraine, how is that an excuse? Russia knows NATO is no threat to its borders, which is why they never defend those borders, democracies, especially 33 of them, could never hope to justify a war of conquest against another nation especially a major one like Russia. This war is about Putin's last ditch effort to reignite Russian Imperialism and bring back Russia to superpower status. Not about the Russian homeland, which is totally safe from the West. Now from Islam and China...that's a different story. I have heard rumblings that Islam may rise up as their demographics are positive and ethnic Russians have negative.
There was so much more. From 1923 to WW2 to Stalin's ethnic cleansings which led to ethnic Russians in Ukraine to the reality that only Inner Donbas (DPR/LPR 2014) and Crimea are Majority Russian. THe truth that Crimea only is Majority Russian cause the Tatars got ethnically cleansed, same with Inner Donbas, because of Ukrainians getting sent to gulags and then Russians stealing the land.
Learn your history. I know mine. What i just shared with you is like 5% of what I typed and .00001% of waht I know and its still more than the cliff note biased propaganda Russian talking point wannabe "gotcha" that you got there with that talking point. Everybody knows about the Russians in Ukraine, you're the one that doesn't know how they got there. The War on Terror saw 2 trillion spent in just 20 years, and we were just fighting small nations there.
This is a conventional war, and Ukraine is doing very well with high morale so they have lots of troops and highly motivated troops. Still, conventional wars are extra expensive. Yet we have only given Ukraine 42 billion dollars in military aid. Some of that actually went back into our military, so that's not aid, that's rearming. Mostly we've just given them old stuff we were going to throw away anyways.
I repeat, fighting wars like these are at least in the hundreds of billions, sometimes trillions.
