This is amazing and the fact you gave the template for free is king behaviour. There are so many online where you have to pay for the template. Legend :))
This tree is the most wonderful Christmas card-in-waiting that I have seen in a long, long time! Thank you, Peter, for sharing this video. It is clear, concise and professionally presented; a gem in and of itself. The fact that it is shared gratis, with no sales pitch for anything else, says much about the artist that made it. Thank you once again, Mr Dahmen, Paper Artist Extraordinaire!
Peter I think you are a genius and love what ever it is that you make. This pop up card is so beautiful and elegant. ..I loved your tutorial and will have to watch it several times so I can pound it into my head. I'm not a genius like you...sadly. Thank you so much for sharing your great talent with all of us... I love your work and keep doing it. It is a joy to behold. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us....pat
I made one of these following his video. What I did and found most helpful to do, was I would pause the video at each step while I did as he instructed. This I found to be the easy way to do it.
So many years after your making of this great tutorial, people like me are finding it. So well done-Thank you for sharing your talent with us all. I hope to make at least one of these . With the coronavirus keeping us all at home, this project is just the thing to keep my day interesting.
Many thanks for your kind words. I am happy that you like my tutorial and I wish you every success and much fun with your own Christmas Tree pop-up card!
Thank you Peter for letting us use your template and for your tutorial. I made my Aunt who has very little sight left your card. I am sure she will love it! She will be able to feel what she cannot see. May God bless you and Merry Christmas!
I can't express enough how grateful I am for this tutorial. I sent the card to my girlfriend and her family in the Netherlands and they absolutely loved it! Thank you Peter 👍🏽 It was hard work but it is all worth it in the end 😁
Hello Peter! So happy to have found this vid. I cannot give enough praise for your precise and simple instructions; so clear and inviting. Thank you for creating the engineering on this FANTASTIC card design. I am just catching this in Jan 2017 and will have plenty of time to make one for each of my family ... I will be busy!! Thanks again, looking forward to additional paper sculptures from you.
Peter your pop up card was amazing, and your tutorial was excellent . You did a great job of fully explaining each step of the process. Thank you for sharing your talent .

I know it's early to be making these (Christmas is about 5 months away lol) but I plan to spend this year's Christmas not worrying about sending a card off too late because I procrastinated too long. You're probably not going to read this, but I wanted to express my thanks for your outstanding designs. I've just made three of these beautiful cards for my grandparents, and I have used some of your other patterns in the past, and I really appreciate that they're free for private use. Thanks!

I'm fascinated by pop-ups (including pop up books - I like the surprise element). Also origami & kirigami, as well as the Japanese 360 star books (not sure about the correct name for these books), light boxes, tunnel cards & diaramas. Basically I just love papercraft - so versatile!
I'm curious: do you have a background in engineering or design - or perhaps a bit of both?
Thank you for all the info & tips re glue & paper weight. Re kirigami projects - can you advise re weight of paper / card that should be used and how to cut the paper without tearing it, especially the very fine detail. I struggle with this - it's a lot of work then the paper tears... very frustrating.
I look forward to exploring your channel & website. Thanks again.
