- Hey Everyone, So we have docked up in the Port of Rotterdam in this vlog.
This is our first time visiting Rotterdam as even though we came to this Port on the MSC Virtuosa last year we actually went to Amsterdam instead.
We were so excited to visit the Markthal which as you will see is the most amazing food market. We also try a Water taxi ( crazy experience lol) and visit the really cool and unique cube houses.

We went to Rotterdam in February. Took a water taxi to Euromast - great fun! You can go to the very top of the Euromast for an additional fee, and this does rotate.

I love the markthal and crazy water taxis. I also recommend the nice ramen restaurant in the Markthal not far from the Turkish Pide place. If you walk to the other end of the cube houses the old harbour there is pretty nice too, particularly if you ever stay for an evening/overnight.

My daughter in law just visited Rotterdam on a Fred Olson cruise. She loved the market. Wasn’t keen on Amsterdam. Loved the video made me and husband laugh. She said the food was good on Fred Olsen but the demographic of passengers was older.😁

We took a walk round Rotterdam and thought it was a fab city. We walked thro the cube house complex and also looked up how much they were 😂. The food hall was great and when we was there a massive outdoor market was on outside the hall. The walk we did was about 9 miles in all and took us past the Mast and back to the river...we saw the water taxis and was tempted (We were knackered at this point😅) but just watching them zip along made my stomach flip flop 😮. Another fab video you two. Keep up the good work
Haha did you guess a more accurate price for the houses than we did 🤣and yes we couldn't believe how much speed them taxis picked up. Then when it hit a wave ouch lol 😆
It's easy to get around Rotterdam by hopping on and off the trams. You can buy tickets from machines in the metro station near the cruise terminal, but come back up to the surface and just take any tram across the bridge. A Rotterdam day ticket is €9-50 for bus, metro, trams and waterbus, or there is a South Holland Tourist Ticket for €15-50. The map is easy to understand with different coloured lines.

Was minus 6 when we visited Rotterdam in December 2022. Walking across the swan bridge was like walking across a skating rink!
Yikes that's cold lol and oh no would of hated it if the bridge was slippy. One of us would of ended up on the floor!

There were lots of people in the cube house when I visited, definitely wouldn’t want to live in one with all the step stairs 😮
Was a nightmare trying to get up and down the stairs so could only imagine how it mush of been with even more people in . And haha yes would hate having to walk up and down them all the time 🤣

Wonderful stroll around Rotterdam, Kev and Stacey. Interesting city and tour. Would we live in a Cube House? Heck no! But, the price was right for a tour and we'd do that. The food looked different and delicious. You can always eat Fish and Chips back home Stacey! We enjoyed the look on your face Stacey on the water taxi ride! 🤣🤣(Another intro moment!) The Euromast is great! Feels like a ride at first but once you are up on the viewing deck the views are amazing. Not far from the Euromast are the Rotterdam windmills. Such a shame that you didnt get to see that side of Rotterdam because its much nicer.
We will have to go up it if we go back then and it would of been nice to see the windmills 😁
I visited Rotterdam many years ago and I did go up the euromast ,and I couldn’t wait to get back down. I hate heights,I didn’t have an option as it was a school trip,and we all had to follow orders. If I went back to Rotterdam I wouldn’t go back up the Euromast .

You should have had a wet in the Hotel New York (former HQ of the Holland-America Line) which is where the water taxi put you ashore.
We saw it but didn't realise that it was the former HQ of Holland America
You were actualy standing on top of another train station when you swere showing the bike parking the circular structure is the entrance to Blaak train station, but there is also the Metro you could have taken from the south side of the bridge at Wilhelminaplein. And there is actualy seating on top of some of the stands in Markthal

Hi with us embarking at Southampton and arriving by ship to the Rotterdam cruise terminal other than a water taxi we didn't use any taxis or ubers so not sure sorry on how they would compare price wise 👍

You wouldn’t get me in one of those water taxis, saw the way they chuck them around in the water.
If you notice the water taxis are the same colour as New York taxis something to do with the immigrants leaving Rotterdam for New York 1880/1920.

useless info, if you look at your vlog of the food hall look at the roof inside
the windows are people’s apartments looking down into the food hall.
We tried one of the pickled herring rolls 🤮
