Candles of your choice can be used to start a fire as well as extra lighting. The umbrella isn't bad, but a poncho can be used as a shelter in an emergency survival situation.

For the women. I would really recommend the diva cup over tampons or pads. Why? because you can wear it for 12 hours and it works well. It will also last up to 5 years if taken care of. It's comfortable as well. I love my diva cup. But I do keep a few tampons and pads in my medical kit. Also get Go Girl cup. It makes going to the bathroom easier when hiking or in the woods.
