Thanks again for sharing. My Dad, Richard Carr, did up Amokura I the 1960s and we sailed her out the the Adriatic. So many happy memories rekindled by your lovely videos. So happy she is back in loving hands. Chris Carr Dad would have been delighted!
When I was at IBTC in Lowestoft in 99/2000 I seem to remember Amokura being there for a refit. Didn't work on her myself but remember taking a look around. Specification was for the interior to be fitted out exclusively in straight grained oak I seem to remember. She was sold soon after work was finished.
I LOVE the Amokura - It reminds me of a beautiful boat I was able to board while in Door County Wisconsin WAAY back in the early 1990's. the hull was black and the deck was teak. the couple who was sailing her welcomed us aboard and what struck me was the interior woodwork - If I remember correctly it was an all teak interior too and I compared the craftsmanship to clock-case work - the doors were arched (as in the face of a clock and mitered in the bottom corners and while I am sure there was some mistakes and filled gaps - I didn't see a one! I cannot remember her name, but the man had retired from the Bali Company (the pinball machine people) (I thought to myself, what a charmed life he led!)
Thanks for the encouragement. Currently the only part of my boat I have access to is the rudder which I'm obsessively varnishing... but I do have some unedited footage of the Fastnet race which for various reasons I never got round to editing. Maybe I should get on it.........
Enjoyed that. Thanks for posting.

Great seeing you on the water.
Thank you for these videos!
lovely boat, great fixup
I'd love to see more of your folk boat you showed right in beginning
Another great video Steve! Beautiful boat and excellent soundtrack, too!
Great footage while under way! Thanks so much. I hope you get many more subscribers.
Great story well told. Looking forward to the next one.
You've given new meaning to "friends with benefits." Thanks for sharing your story.
Loved the sea shanties, a nice touch added to excellent video content! The poor bloke on the floor kind of looked beyond resuscitation.

That pole car repair looks better than the original!

Nice one. I enjoyed that. Looks like you did too.
While I slowly refit my Holman 26, I live vicariously through your vids.
How's the Holman 26 progressing, there a great boat,
well done.
Hope to see a fastnet video soon!
Absolutley Brills ;)
Nice work Steve - say hello to Dom for me.....
Hi Jules!
Look forward to seeing you in Dunlaoghaire upon your arrival. Monday?
👍👍👍
Fantastic effort everyone. Hoping for Easterlies for your trip to Dingle. Do you use the Fastnet Lighthouse as a mark on the way?
What is this Caramel Biscuit thing creeping in to all your videos?
Caramel wafers contain three of the five essential food groups... sugar, biscuit and chocolate. They only lack alcohol and caffeine.

The music is truly awful.
